METHODS OF TREATING ANIMAL PROTEINS
The presently disclosed subject matter provides methods of treating animal proteins and pet food products including the same. Methods include treating animal proteins with one or more base compounds to increase the pH thereof to provide for increased preservation and the reduction of spoilage of the animal protein.
EDIBLE ANIMAL CHEWS
The present disclosure relates to edible animal chews. Embodiment disclosed include an edible animal chew and processes for producing an edible animal chew comprising at least two extruded layers, wherein at least one extruded layer comprises: animal skin protein, wherein the animal skin is porcine or bovine, animal fat, wherein the animal fat is porcine or bovine, and soybean protein, wherein there is an air-gap between at least a portion of the at least two extruded layers, and a processes for forming an edible animal chew.

Edible animal chews and methods of making and using same
Edible chews having a polygon-shaped cross-section, such as a star-shaped cross section. This cross-sectional shape provides an increased surface area and forms edges, and these features clean teeth of an animal such as a dog. These edible chews have a soft chewy texture which avoids or significantly reduces gum bleeding which is caused by known dental treats with typically have a hard texture.

Pet food and manufacturing method thereof
Disclosed are a pet food and a manufacturing method thereof. The pet food of the present invention includes a storage body having a can shape, an inner cap sealing an upper end of the storage body and provided in a disposable use, an outer cap detachably coupled to the storage body to cover the inner cap, and a plurality of feed bodies stored in the storage body, wherein a plurality of powder members are mixed in the storage body and when the storage body is shaken before feeding the feed to a pet, the plurality of powder members is coated on the plurality of feed bodies.
METHOD OF PRODUCING A FOOD PRODUCT
It is disclosed a method of producing a food product for human consumption by using extrusion from a plant-based food material and gutted and plucked poultry comprising bones, hard tissues, tendons, skin and/or cartilages.
APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING FOOD PRODUCTS
Apparatus, systems and methods are disclosed to manufacture a plurality of edible pieces in a continuous process where each piece is generally different in thickness, shape, size and/or texture from another piece, so as to create, in the aggregate product distribution, pieces of randomly varying thickness, size, shape and/or texture. More specifically, the present invention, in its various embodiments, provides a process for manufacturing pet jerky treats comprising: grinding proteinaceous material, mixing said proteinaceous material with preservatives and flavor enhancers to form a blend of foodstuff, extruding said foodstuff through at least one die opening that is at least partially irregular to form at least one strip of extrudate that is at least partly irregular in shape, transporting said strip in a first longitudinal direction to a first cutting operation, cutting said strip at a first cutting angle to form a first set of pieces, transporting said first set of pieces in a second longitudinal direction to a second cutting operation, cutting said first set of pieces in said second cutting operation at a second angle to form a second set of pieces, such that the said second set of pieces cumulatively produced during a process run generally appear to be of random sizes and shapes.
