PROCESS FOR IMPROVING WHEAT STRAW DEGRADATION
A process for improving wheat straw degradation in a ruminant, including the following steps: a) providing the wheat straw, b) chemically pretreating the provided straw, c) feeding the ruminant with the chemically pretreated wheat straw, wherein the process is characterized in that it also includes a step d) of directly administering an enzymatic rumen additive to the ruminant, i.e. the enzymatic rumen additive is not used as a pretreatment on the wheat straw. Also, the direct use of an enzymatic rumen additive in a ruminant before, during or after feeding the ruminant with wheat straw having undergone a chemical pretreatment, i.e. the enzymatic additive is not used as a pretreatment on the wheat straw.

PROCESS FOR IMPROVING RUMINAL DEGRADATION OF WHEAT STRAW
A process for improving wheat straw degradation in a ruminant, including a step of feeding the ruminant with the wheat straw, wherein the process is characterized in that it also includes a step of administering a prebiotic chosen from an autolysed yeast, a yeast extract, a yeast wall fraction or mixtures thereof, the administrating of the prebiotic being carried out before, after or simultaneously with the step of feeding the ruminant. Also, the use, in a ruminant, of a prebiotic chosen from an autolysed yeast, a yeast extract, a yeast wall fraction or mixtures thereof, before, after or during the feeding of the ruminant with wheat straw.
Process for the decomposition of biomass material
A process for the decomposition of biomass-material includes subjecting a lignocellulose-containing biomass-material to comminution, subjecting the comminuted lignocellulose-containing biomass-material to a sifting to separate from the comminuted lignocellulose-containing biomass-material a fraction of small-particles, and subjecting the remaining comminuted lignocellulose-containing biomass-material to a pretreatment. Before, during, or after the pretreatment, small particles can be added to the remaining comminuted lignocellulose-containing biomass-material. Optionally, the small particles can be added continuously during the pretreatment. The addition of small particles decreases friction of the remaining comminuted lignocellulose-containing biomass-material results in decreased process time, energy savings, and reduced production costs.

Ingredients for animal feed compositions
The present invention relates to ingredients for animal feed compositions for enhancing animal growth and/or animal health. The invention also relates to methods for producing such ingredients and feed compositions. The methods of the invention further allow improving the palatableness and/or digestibility of feed compositions. More specifically, the invention describes the use of a mix of Deinococcus or related bacteria and biomass as a supply of organic constituents in feed compositions.
