DRINKS POUCH
A fully sealed pouch containing a drink is provided with a straw within the pouch accessible to allow a user to draw drink from the pouch. The pouch defines a top portion, a bottom portion, and respective side edges interconnecting the top portion and the bottom portion. A corner portion is defined between the top portion and one side edge, the corner portion being openable by a user to access the straw. The pouch forms a closed cavity containing the drink, the cavity being defined by the top portion, the bottom portion, and side edges and by at least one wall defining a front face and a rear face for the cavity. The front and rear faces are connected together in the top portion. The front and rear faces are continuous with each other at, or are connected along, the other of the side edges. The front and rear faces are connected, optionally via a gusset, to provide the bottom portion. The one side edge is formed by a first heat seal connecting the front and rear faces; and a second heat seal connects the front and rear faces and extends in an incomplete fashion from the top portion to the bottom portion, being spaced inboard of the first heat seal. The second heat seal divides the interior of the cavity into major and minor portions interconnected so that drink may flow between them, the minor portion lying between the first and second heat seals, and the straw being located within this minor portion. A number of different ways are described in which the corner portion may be opened along a line of weakness formed in the pouch and extending generally parallel to the top edge or the bottom portion from the first heat seal to and ending at the second heat seal.
BEVERAGE BOTTLE AND DYNAMIC STRAW
A beverage bottle includes a liquid reservoir, a spout, and a straw. The liquid reservoir defines an upper end and a lower end of the bottle. The spout is positioned at the upper end of the liquid reservoir. The straw extends from the upper end to the lower end of the liquid reservoir and includes a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end of the straw is configured to extend through the spout and the distal end of the straw is configured to engage the lower end of the liquid reservoir. The distal end of the straw includes a resilient hinge moveable between an axial position and a bent position. The proximal end of the straw extends through the spout when the resilient hinge is in the axial position and is withdrawn into the spout when the resilient hinge is in the bent position.
Lid assemblies for containers
A lid unit for use with a beverage container. The lid unit includes a lid body having a lid cover and a side wall extending downwardly from the lid cover; and a drink straw having a gas relief valve detachably fitted to the lid body. In particular, a rotatable top plate can be placed on the lid cover; and the gas relief valve can permit the pressured gas to escape the lid unit. The gas relief valve can include a valve body, flexible strip and spool. Also, the lid cover has an annular raised rim, and defines two drink orifices. The first drink orifice is shaped and sized to be an elongated slot, and the second drink orifice is shaped and sized to be a circular hole for insertion of the drink straw. The two drink orifices are spaced apart circumferentially and in fluid communication with the beverage container.
Dual functioning straw and drink spout
A beverage drinking apparatus has a container, a spout, a straw and a cap, and allows the user a choice of drinking method. When the user turns the cap in a first direction, the straw extends from spout for the user to drink from. When the user turns the cap in a second direction, the straw is removed from the container, allowing the user to drink from the spout.
