ASSISTIVE DEVICE FOR AN INHALER
An assistive device for a metered dose inhaler decreases the force required to operate the inhaler. The assistive device has a body with a passage for receiving a replaceable conventional metered dose inhaler assembly that has a canister and a transverse mouthpiece with an axis of the canister aligning approximately with that of the passage. At least two symmetrically arranged levers extend in a direction away from the body and parallel to an axis thereof. A proximal end of each lever is attached to the body such that the free opposite ends of the levers may be moved towards and away from each other. An inwardly directed cam surface on each of the levers engages a closed end of a canister in use to move the canister longitudinally to cause a dose of medicament to be dispensed from the canister. An optional dose counter may form part of the device.
Auto-reset dose release firing systems, medicinal inhalers comprising same, and methods of using same
An auto-reset dose release firing system (101) and a method of using same. The system can include an a stored energy device (109); a first plunger (103) movable between first, second, and third positions, the first plunger configured to be operatively coupled to a medicament canister (51); and a second plunger (104) movable between first and second positions; the first and second plunger being movable with respect to one another and shaped to define an evacuable chamber (185) therebetween. The first plunger and the second plunger can move together from their respective first positions to their respective second positions, due to a reduced pressure in the chamber, to cause a dose release valve (54) to fire. After firing, air can be allowed to move into the chamber to allow the first plunger to move with respect to the second plunger to its third position to allow the dose release valve to reset.
FLUID PRODUCT DISPENSING DEVICE
A fluid dispenser device having a body, a reservoir including a neck, a dispenser member mounted on the reservoir, a lateral actuator system secured to the body and including a lever pivotally mounted, and a transverse projection formed directly on the reservoir and formed on or below the neck and co-operating, during actuation, with the lateral actuator system. The reservoir includes two parallel transverse projections that extend in symmetrical manner respectively on either side of the reservoir, a radial recess being defined between the two parallel transverse projections, the radial recess co-operating with the body so as to guide the reservoir axially during actuation.
Real-time laser measurement and marking apparatus
A real-time measurement and marking apparatus is provided. The disclosure providing a portable marking device comprising: a housing including a main housing structure and a can cover, the main housing structure having a front open end, a rear nozzle end, a top surface, a bottom surface, and a pair of opposing side walls, wherein at least one of the side walls defines an aperture, the can cover having a rear open end, a front closed end, the can cover extending at the rear open end to selectively engage with the aperture defined by at least one of the side walls releasably securing a spray can within the housing; a nozzle member positioned at the rear nozzle end of the of the main housing structure; an optical measuring apparatus for real-time measuring of a distance between a point of focus and the portable marking device activated by one or more buttons.
Delivery system for metered dose inhalers
An accessory device for delivering medications from press and breath metered-dose inhalers (pMDIs), including those medications containing hydrofluoroalkane propellants. The device includes a collapsible flexible bag to which is attached a bidirectional mouthpiece and an adaptor that receives the press and breath MDI. The mouthpiece contains a reed that functions as an audible signal, and a screen to prevent inhalation of unwanted particles. The adaptor positions the press and breath MDI at an angle to direct the aerosol spray toward the center of the collapsible flexible bag. When the press and breath MDI is triggered, it discharges the aerosolized medication into the center of the collapsible flexible bag which is then inhaled by the user through the mouthpiece. This collapses the bag. The reed emits an audible sound if the user inhales above a pre-determined flow rate to maximize medication delivery and ensure dose-to-dose consistency.
Wash, clean and dry system with removable spray canister device
A method and a wash, clean and dry system are provided for washing, cleaning and drying a surface region of a human body. The system includes a toilet seat assembly with a bidet assembly having a spray canister device for spraying the surface region with a solution, such as a skin protecting barrier solution, a cleaning solution or a medicated solution. In one aspect, the spray canister device can be movably insert into and out of the toilet seat assembly and is easy to operate and use. In addition, the bidet assembly further includes a spray nozzle assembly and a drying nozzle assembly, which are adapted to wash, clean and dry the region of the human body in three dimensional moments. The removable spray canister device with the removable sleeved cover element is thus easy to carry and be re-filled with new solutions.
SPRAY CANISTER DEVICE
A spray canister device includes a canister containing a liquid product, a canister housing having an opening, a chassis element, and a tray slidably coupled to the chassis element. The canister includes an actuator cap and is positioned in the canister housing such that a nozzle of the actuator cap is positioned proximate the opening. The canister housing, and the canister positioned therein, may be engaged with the tray via at least one protruding member. Once engaged, the tray may be slidably moved along the chassis element between a retracted position and an extended position to facilitate relative movement between the canister and the canister housing to compress the actuator cap of the canister and spray the liquid product.
DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
Systems and methods for isolating and/or desiccating a portion of a drug delivery tract of a drug delivery apparatus to reduce water vapor content therein are provided. For example, there is provided a metered dose inhaler for delivering aerosolized medicament or other matter to a user. The aerosolized medicament or other matter may be discharged from a discharge passageway within the inhaler into an inhalation passageway for inhalation by a user, and the inhaler may comprise a seal member operative to selectively isolate the discharge passageway from the inhalation passageway and external environment during inactivity. The inhaler may further comprise a desiccant material arranged to withdraw moisture from the isolated discharge passageway. In other instances, desiccant material may be arranged to withdraw moisture from the discharge passageway of the inhaler without isolating the discharge passage during inactivity.
