CAPSULE AND SYSTEM FOR PREPARING A BEVERAGE
A capsule for preparing a beverage comprises a substantially rigid capsule body with a circumferential wall and a base wall that border an inner space filed with a beverage ingredient. An open filling side of the capsule at an end of the circumferential wall opposite the base wall is covered with a lid of fluid tight material. The lid is provided with a preformed outlet opening suitable for draining the prepared beverage from the inner space when the capsule is used in a beverage preparation device. The outlet opening is fluid tightly closed by a removable cover element extending over at least part of the lid.
Pack for preparing foamed food or beverage products
The invention relates to a pack (100) for preparing a food or beverage product from one or more food or beverage ingredients comprising an insert (10) and a container (20) where the ingredient or ingredients are stored, the insert (10) comprising at least a fluid inlet (110) configured for introducing an aqueous fluid under the form of a jet in the inner volume of the pack, the insert (10) further comprising at least an air conduit (130) configured to allow introducing air from the exterior of the pack and into the inner volume of the said pack through at least an air nozzle (132). The at least one fluid inlet (110) communicates with a depression chamber (200) through at least one liquid nozzle (120) in order to create a jet from a pressurized fluid introduced through the fluid inlet (110). The invention further relates to the use of a pack as described for preparing a food or beverage product.
CAPSULE FOR FOOD OR BEVERAGE PREPARATION HAVING A DISPLACEABLE MEMBRANE FOR ENGAGEMENT WITH OPENING MEANS
The invention relates to a capsule (1) for food or beverage preparation comprising a hollow body (2) and an injection wall (4) to be punctured for fluid injection into the capsule, a chamber (10) formed inside the body containing an ingredient, a membrane (9) disposed at a bottom end of the chamber, and opening means (15) disposed outside the chamber (10) in the vicinity of the membrane (9). The opening means (15) are configured to open the membrane (9) when said membrane (9) is pressed against said opening means (15) under an opening pressure. The membrane is attached to the body (2) of the capsule by an adhesive seal (11) which provides sealing between the body (2) and the membrane (9). When a release pressure is established inside the chamber (10), the adhesive seal bead (11) allows the membrane (9) to be displaced relatively to the body (2) and to engage against the opening means (15) while it maintains an attachment between the membrane and the capsule body (2).
Capsule for preparing infusion beverages
A capsule for preparing infusion beverages, includes a containing body and a cover forming an inner chamber for containing an infusion product. An end wall of the containing body includes a deformation section and a central section arranged inside the deformation section such that the capsule can be moved between a closed position, in which the central section is remote from the inner chamber, and an open position, in which the central section is close to the inner chamber. The capsule further includes a sheet-like closing layer arranged adjacent to the end wall for closing the inner chamber and an inner wall adjacent to the sheet-like closing layer. Also perforation members are provided such that when the capsule is in the open position, the sheet-like closing layer is perforated by the perforation members against the end wall or the inner wall.
BEVERAGE POD FOR AGGLOMERATING MATERIAL
The present disclosure is directed to single use beverage dispensing containers or pods that are used to make beverages from materials that may have limited solubility. Beverage pods of the present disclosure may be made to break open along a bottom surface of the pod when the pod is placed into a beverage making machine. When the beverage pod capsule comes into contact with a piercing element of a beverage making machine, thinner or embossed parts of the beverage pod may be stressed and crack open forming a breakaway opening that exceeds the diameter of a hole in the beverage machine's piercing element. A flow of liquid provided to a top of the beverage pod would mix with a beverage making material and the liquid and the material could escape the pod through the breakaway opening in the beverage pod.
SINGLE-SERVE REFILL POD
Refillable pod can be reused to brew a beverage with a single-serve brewer. The refillable pod has a funnel at about six O'clock position near the front of the cap to drain the beverage without substantially coming to contact the brewing mechanism. The refillable pod may have a handle which can be used by the user to insert the refillable pod into the brewer so that funnel can be positioned at about six O'clock position within the brewing mechanism.
CAPSULE FOR FOOD OR BEVERAGE PREPARATION COMPRISING AN OVERSIZED MEMBRANE
The invention relates to a capsule (1) for food or beverage preparation, the capsule (1) comprising a hollow body (2) adapted to be punctured for fluid injection inside the capsule (1), a chamber (10) formed inside the body (2) and containing an ingredient, a membrane (9) covering an opening formed in a bottom end of the chamber (10), an edge of the membrane being fastened to a rim (12) surrounding the opening by fastening means which forms a seal between the body (2) and the membrane (9), and opening means disposed outside the chamber (10) in the vicinity of the membrane (9) configured to open the membrane when it is pressed against said opening means under an opening pressure. The part of the membrane (9) which is surrounded by the seal has a developed surface area comprised between 110% and 140% of the area of a flat surface surrounded by said seal.
Beverage Brewing Cartridge, Cartridge Construction Kit, and Method of Constructing a Beverage Cartridge
A beverage brewing cartridge includes a base and a plug. The base includes a sidewall, a fillable end having an opening, and a closed end. The plug is configured to close off the opening. A method of constructing a brewing cartridge includes placing the base of the beverage brewing cartridge on a cartridge seat of a cartridge tool with the closed end against the cartridge seat. A cartridge lock retains the base against the cartridge tool. A portion of brewing material is scooped and poured into the base through a mouth of the cartridge lock and the opening of the fillable end of the base, and then tamped into the base. The plug is positioned above and aligned with the opening of the fillable end of the base, and seated into the opening to close the opening, thereby completing construction of the brewing cartridge.
A SEMI-RIGID SACHET FOR BEVERAGE PREPARATION
A pack (1) with an inner volume in which a food or beverage ingredient is stored and in which a beverage is produced when water is introduced inside. The pack (1) comprises at least one inlet configured to supply water in the inner volume of the pack (1) and one outlet (11) for dispensing a beverage from the inner volume of the pack (1). The pack (1) comprises a semi-rigid or rigid shell (2), the shell (2) comprises a main plane wall (20) surrounded by a peripheral edge (21), and a cover part (3) sealed on the peripheral edge (21), the shell (2) and the cover part (3) defining therebetween said inner volume.
BEVERAGE POD
Single-serving beverage pods can include a first chamber operable to contain a dry beverage material and a second chamber operable to contain a second beverage material. A seal layer is disposed between the first chamber and the second chamber to prevent fluid communication between the first chamber and the second chamber. The seal layer can be operable to be breached by a brewing pin such that the brewing pin is received in the second chamber. The second beverage material can then be removed from the beverage pod via the brewing pin.
