Capsule with a rupturable membrane used in preparing a drink
The present invention relates to a capsule for preparing a drink, for example coffee, including a hollow element (1) for containing a metered amount (2) of e.g. ground coffee, said hollow element including a side wall, an upper surface, and a lower surface with at least one membrane (4), said membrane being rupturable under the pressure of a liquid placed into the capsule to enable the flow of liquid through the metered amount, said capsule also including a cover (5) with at least one hole, said hole enabling the membrane (4) to rupture.
Beverage formation apparatus and method using vibratory energy
Apparatus and method for forming beverages using a beverage cartridge and sonic energy. A cartridge may include a sonic receiver, such as a feature that extends into an interior space of the cartridge and is arranged to receive a sonic emitter that introduces sonic energy into the interior space. The sonic receiver may be excited by sonic energy, which causes the sonic receiver to itself introduce sonic energy into the cartridge.
METHOD FOR ELABORATING AN OLIVE PREPARATION AND FOR OBTAINING AN OLIVE OIL IN SITU BASED ON THE PREPARATION AND MEANS FOR PUTTING THE METHOD INTO PRACTICE
A method for obtaining an olive oil in situ, which comprises the operation of packaging and preserving a dry olive preparation formed from an olive paste that is firstly frozen and then freeze-dried in a capsule, preferably a single-dose capsule; and the operation of reconstituting the olive paste by hydrating it inside the capsule to obtain an olive oil that will be extracted from the capsule by pressure. The capsule comprises a filtering membrane having micro-perforations suitable for retaining the preparation and the passage of traces of olive wastewater or water particles therethrough, which may contain an olive oil obtainable from rehydrating the olive paste inside the receptacle and a machine for cooperating with the capsule comprising an injection head of a liquid and a piston prepared for pressing the preparation and subjecting it to a pressure greater than 10 bar.
CAPSULE FOR DISPENSING BEVERAGES AND METHOD FOR ITS MANUFACTURE
It is described a capsule (10) for dispensing a beverage comprising: a main body (20) suitable for containing a product (P) to be dispensed, which comprises a bottom (22) and a side wall (24), extending from said bottom (22) and ending with an edge (26); a closing member (30) suitable for sealably closing said main body (20); and at least one first valve means (40) suitable for allowing the beverage to come out from the capsule (10) or for allowing a liquid to enter into the capsule (10). The main body (20) is made from cellulose pulp, the closing member (30) is made from biocompatible material and the capsule (10) further comprises a first sealing film made from edible material comprising at least one salt of alginic acid (23) and positioned inside said bottom (22) of the main body (20) at least at said at least one first valve means (40). It is also described a method for manufacturing a capsule for dispensing a beverage, as defined above.
CAPSULE FOR PRODUCING BEVERAGES
A capsule for producing a beverage in an automatic beverage production device is provided that includes a cup-shaped body defined by a lateral wall and a bottom wall with a beverage outflow opening closed by a sealing film, and a filter member provided with a perforation member and extending transversely so as to ideally divide the cup-shaped body into an upper part containing the substance to be brewed, and a lower part containing a chamber for collecting the beverage. The bottom wall comprises an annular portion extending transversely to the capsule axis to define a stable support base for the capsule when the latter is arranged in a corresponding percolation seat of the automatic beverage production device. The lower part comprises a geometric discontinuity area shaped and/or sized so as to result, when the capsule is externally axially compressed, in the lower part of the cup-shaped body deforming substantially at the geometric discontinuity area, and in the perforation member resultingly displacing through the sealing film.
METHODS OF MANUFACTURE FOR MULTI-INGREDIENT BEVERAGE FILTER CARTRIDGES
Provided are methods for manufacturing a multi-ingredient beverage filter cartridge comprising the steps of: adding an amount of a first soluble beverage medium to the container having an internal bottom end, sidewall, and an access opening opposite the internal bottom end; leveling at least a portion of a top surface of the added first soluble beverage medium so that such top surface is substantially in the range of 1 mm to 11 mm from the internal bottom end; adhering a filter medium to the sidewall such that the filter medium does not contact the first soluble beverage medium, top surface; adding an amount of a second soluble beverage medium to the container such that the second soluble beverage medium forms a layer on top of the filter medium; and enclosing the container with a sealed lid.
FILTER FOR CAPSULES FOR MAKING ESPRESSO COFFEE AND CAPSULE FOR MAKING ESPRESSO COFFEE
A filter for capsules for making espresso coffee by passing pressurised hot water through ground coffee powder, the filter (2) being rigid or semi-rigid, bowl-shaped and comprising a first base wall (3), a first lateral wall (4), a first upper edge (5) and a plurality of passages passing through it and which comprise an inlet section (10) facing towards an inner part (6) of the bowl and an outlet section (11) facing towards an outer part (7) of the bowl, at least the inlet sections (10) of the passages being made in parts of the filter (2) which are radially separated from the central axis by a distance equal to at least two thirds of the minimum radial distance of the first lateral wall (4) from the central axis; and a capsule comprising said filter (2) near to a second base wall (16) of it.
PORTION CAPSULE HAVING AN IDENTIFIER
A portion capsule for producing a beverage includes a base element having a cavity in which a beverage raw material is provided and which is closed by a membrane fastened to the base element.
COFFEE POD
A coffee pod is described with an improved sealing surface for a filter disposed within the pod. The improved sealing surface provides better adherence between the filter and a sidewall of the pod so that unadhered portions are minimized and operation is improved. A coffee pod is also described with an improved foot structure having a configuration and thickness designed to minimize buckling while also utilizing a cost-efficient amount of material.
Single serving brewing material holder
A filter paper cup for making a beverage pod. The filter paper cup includes a cover and a base (or receptacle). The filter paper cup is formed by forming pleats in walls and a rim around the tops of the wall. Preferably, a heat seal filter paper is used and the pleats in the walls and rim are adhered by the heat to retain the shape. The base in inserted into a pod holder and brewing material is placed into the base. The cover is folded over the rim, and a lid is attached to the pod holder to sandwich the cover and rim to seal the pod. The cover is held taut by the lid of the pod holder to facilitate penetration of the cover by a needle to inject water into the pod.
