Machine and methods for dispensing nutritional supplements and multi-serving cartridge therefor
A granulated nutritional supplement dispensing machine extracts single-serving doses from a multi-serving supplements cartridge for delivery as a drinkable solution. A lead serving chamber is pierced so that its powered contents drain into a mixing cup together with a metered quantity of water from an integrated water tank. A vibrator unit assists drainage of the granulated materials from the lead serving chamber. The mixing cup is rotated at high speed to blend the water and supplements into a slurry. The supplements cartridge is indexed after (or before) use so that an unopened serving chamber is presented each time for extracting its supplements. This enables partially-used supplements cartridges to be used in the machine, as is conducive in multiple-user households. The supplements cartridge is configured with read-write data capability to indicate whether or not the contents of each serving chamber have been emptied.
Beverage dispensing system and method
A system and method is presented wherein a disposable pod having two chambers, each of which can be either wet or dry and contain a variety of substances, is sized to fit distinct brewing systems offered by third parties, such that the puncturing and water dispensing functionality of such brewing systems cause the mixture of the variety of substances in the two chambers resulting in a wide range of beverages.

Capsules for holding in an interior space a portion of a product for preparing a food product include a first part (501) and a second part (502), arranged along a direction of extension (A). The first and second parts define at least a portion of an interior space (S) for holding a portion of a food product. At least one of the first and second parts of the capsule may include a substantially rigid connector portion (533) with at least one inlet for connecting to the apparatus wherein the at least one inlet defines a first flow direction for a fluid to be introduced into the inlet which first flow direction extends more than about 45 degrees to the direction of extension of the capsule. An apparatus may include an actuator for cooperating with the capsule.
Capsule for the preparation of a coffee-based beverage
A capsule for extraction of a beverage of the filter-coffee type has a capsule body (2), made of water-impermeable material, which defines a chamber (3), present inside which is a precursor of the beverage, comprising soluble coffee and roast and ground coffee. At least 51 wt % of the precursor is roast and ground coffee having a grain size expressed in x50 comprised between 350 and 800 ?m, and the complement to 100 wt % of the precursor is soluble coffee having a grain size expressed in x50 comprised between 1000 and 5000 ?m. The roast and ground coffee is laid out to form a first layer (GC) in the lower part of the capsule body (3), and the soluble coffee (SC) is laid out to form a second layer (SC) in the upper part of the capsule body, i.e., in a position corresponding to the inlet wall (5) and/or above the first layer (GC). The first layer of roast and ground coffee (GC) is pressed inside the capsule body (3), and the second layer of soluble coffee (SC) is present inside the capsule body (3) substantially unpressed.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR AUTOMATIC DISHWASHING CHEMICAL DISTRIBUTION
A partitioned solution cartridge for automatic distribution of dishwashing chemicals includes a protective top film and a compartmentalized body including a plurality of contained solution sectors each including a fluid reservoir and a distribution chamber. The fluid reservoir is partially enclosed by a reservoir sidewall and the protective top film. The distribution chamber is partially enclosed by a chamber sidewall and the protective top film. The fluid reservoir and the distribution chamber are fluidly connected.

FILTER-BAG FOR INFUSION PRODUCTS AND METHOD FOR MAKING FILTER-BAG
A filter-bag for liquid infusion products including a thermoformed body with filtration properties having an inner volume defined by a bottom, a mouth delimited on the perimeter by an upper flat edge, and a connecting wall between the bottom and the upper edge; the wall being provided with at least one rib extending from the bottom towards the upper edge in such a way as to define at least two chambers for containing corresponding infusion products separate from each other and included in the internal volume of the thermoformed body; a flat piece of non-thermoformable filter material, having transparency characteristics, and associated with the upper edge of the body for covering the opening and separating the chambers obtained in this way.
Capsule with foaming means
A capsule for use in a beverage preparation machine capable of making a beverage with a foam. The capsule comprising an ingredient chamber for containing an ingredient for preparing the beverage and at least one gas reservoir containing gas. The at least one gas reservoir having an opening within the capsule, the opening adjacent a flow path for liquid through the capsule such that the gas reservoir is in fluid communication with the flow path, the at least one gas reservoir arranged such that, in use, liquid flowing past the opening entrains gas from the gas reservoir to form a foam-like mixture of gas and liquid.
