Closure for a container, closure components, and method of use thereof
A closure body (40) is provided for installation with a liner membrane (52) on a container (44). The closure body (40) has a peripheral portion (74) for being mounted on the container (44) around an access opening (48), and a separable portion (82) that (i) is disposed laterally inwardly of the peripheral portion (74); (ii) is initially connected to the peripheral portion (74) by at least one frangible connection (86); and (iii) can be separated from the peripheral portion (74) upon breaking of the at least one frangible connection (86). The closure body (40) has an opening member (94) that is connected with the separable portion (82) to accommodate movement of the opening member (94) relative to the separable portion (82). The opening member (94) has a grippable portion (102) and a puncture portion (106) each disposed in an initial inactive orientation relative to the separable portion (74).
LID FOR AN ALUMINUM BEVERAGE CAN
A can lid (14) for an aluminum beverage can comprises a pull tab (38). Further, it has a chuck wall (26) defining a plug diameter, a countersink (28) and central panel (30) having a panel radius (48). On the central panel, a score line (34) defining a tear panel (32) and a rivet (40) for connecting the pull tab to the can lid are arranged. The plug diameter is between 45 to 49 mm, an outside lid diameter is between 52 to 55 mm and a lid weight is less than 1.9 gr. The central panel has a thickness of less than 0.19 mm. The score line defines an area of between 300 mm.sup.2 to 350 mm.sup.2 and the score line has a shortest distance from the panel radius of less than 3 mm.
Beverage container with an aerosol emitting device
A beverage container with aerosol-emitting device, comprising an opening device arranged on an outer side of the beverage container for opening a drink-through opening cover and an aerosol-emitting device attached to an outer side of the beverage container, which aerosol-emitting device comprises a pressure container for receiving and storing a pressurized propellant gas and a substance to be emitted, a nozzle fluidly connected to the pressure container for emitting an aerosol formed from the propellant gas and the substance to be emitted, and a triggering device for opening the nozzle, which releases the aerosol upon actuation.
Reverse pressure can end
A can end includes a center panel, an annular portion disposed about the center panel, a chuck wall disposed about the annular portion, a curl extending radially outwardly from the chuck wall, the annular portion including an annular ridge and an annular countersink, the annular countersink disposed adjacent and about the annular ridge. The annular countersink and the annular ridge are structured to resist deformation from external or reverse pressure.
END CLOSURE WITH LARGE OPENING RING PULL TAB
An end closure for food and beverage containers is provided. The end closure comprises a central panel with a large opening defined by a score line and a safety fold positioned proximate at least a portion of said score line. The end closure further comprises a ring pull tab operably interconnected to the central panel proximate to a peripheral edge of the central panel. Prior to opening the end closure, a tail end of the ring pull tab is positioned over the tear panel. In some embodiments, the tear panel may completely detach from the end closure upon opening.
Ecology can end with pressure equalization port
An ecology stay-on tab beverage can end has a first curvilinear segment of frangible score severable to form a vent region and a pressure equalization port. A second curvilinear segment of frangible score has opposing terminal ends separated by a hinge segment of the center panel. The second curvilinear segment of frangible score is severable to form a pour opening. A lifting of a lift end of a tab actuates an opening sequence in which the first curvilinear segment of frangible score is severed causing the vent region and the pressure equalization port to form before the pour opening is completely formed.
