A metallic can end having a reclosable opening has a microgap or a weakening line peripherally around the opening, a sealing frame composed of plastic material surrounding the opening region, a closure unit composed of plastic that is disposed within the microgap or weakening line and that is pivotably attached to the fixed end surface via a pivot bearing. The sealing frame and the closure unit cooperate in a sealing manner. The metallic end region disposed within the peripheral microgap or the weakening line is received and held in the opening region of the end. The sealing frame is bonded to the fixed end surface and the closure unit is bonded to the upwardly pivotable metallic end region. Except for a possibly provided lacquer layer, the inner end side is at least largely free of lamination and the like.

The coating composition includes a water-dispersible acrylic linear block copolymer made by surfactant-free heterogeneous radical polymerization (“SFHRP”). The block copolymer imparts a desirable combination of flexibility and corrosion resistance to the coating composition, and the substantial absence of surfactants during polymerization contributes to other desirable properties including good blush resistance.

A container lid assembly including a rotational and axial guide feature extending radially from an interior surface of a lid sidewall. The rotational and axial guide feature is designed to provide axial translation and retention of a cap or other accessory when the cap (accessory) is rotationally engaged with the lid sidewall. The cap and lid can include an interface that creates a liquid and gas impervious seal therebetween. The seal can be provided between a bottom surface of the cap and the top surface of the lid, a feature of the sidewalls of the cap and the lid, or any other sealing interface. The lid can include a score line defining a tear panel, wherein the tear panel can be opened when the score line is fractured. The score line can be fractured using a stay-on-tab, an incisor, a shearing force, etc.

The present invention relates to a can made essentially of plastic and containing a sterile beverage. The can includes a receptacle having a cylindrical body and an upper portion provided with an opening. The opening in the receptacle is hermetically sealed with a closure made of a metal and plastics composite. A cap comprising a cylindrical side wall and a piercing device is attached to the receptacle. Preferably, the cap comprises a re-closable lid. The receptacle-and-cap assembly have the appearance of a can.

The present disclosure relates to a transport closure (1) for use in a packaging container (10) for bulk solids. The transport closure includes a laminate of a first layer (2) and a second layer (3). The first layer (2) is delimited by a first layer peripheral edge (4) and the second layer (3) is delimited by a second layer peripheral edge (5). The second layer (3) comprises or consists of a weldable material and the first layer (2) has higher tear strength than the second layer (2). The first layer (3) is provided with a weakening line (6) defining a pull-tab (7) in the first layer (3) and having a first and a second base point (6a,6b). The base points (6a,6b) are arranged at a base end (7b) of the pull-tab (7), opposite to a gripping end (7a) of the pull-tab (7).

A metal end for seaming onto a metal container body. The end comprises an outer curl, a centre panel within the outer curl, and a tab having a longitudinal axis (A). The end further comprises a rivet securing the tab to the centre panel, and a score in the centre panel having two spaced apart ends which define a hinge therebetween, the hinge lying on one side of said longitudinal axis (A), such that operation of the tab fractures the score and causes the region of the centre panel within the score to pivot about the hinge and provide an aperture in the centre panel. The score extends into a region of the centre panel that is behind a centre line (B) running through the centre of the rivet and perpendicular to said longitudinal axis (A), and on the other side of the longitudinal axis (A) from the hinge.

The member is for urging inwardly by a user applying, at least in use of the can when the lid has been at least partially opened, an urging force, allowing changing the state of the member between a first state, in which the can has a first contained volume and a second, deformed state, in which the can has a second contained volume smaller than the first contained volume.
