VENTED BEVERAGE CAN AND CAN END
A beverage can end has a vent (40) that includes a button (50). The vent is actuated by downward force of a pull tab (70) that is transmitted to the vent score (42) through the button. The center panel (18) includes beads.
BEVERAGE CAN END FRANGIBLE SCORE GEOMETRY
An ecology stay-on tab beverage can end has a first axis extending though a rivet. A tear panel is defined by a frangible score and a non-frangible hinge that joins a first end of the frangible score with a second end of the frangible score. The first axis forms a line of asymmetry of the tear panel. A second axis intersects the first axis at a right angle. An intersection of the first axis with the second axis defines a center point of a clock-like reference having a 12 o'clock position at the first point and a 6 o'clock position at the second point. A first radius of curvature of the frangible score between a 5 o'clock position and a 7 o'clock position is at least 3.6 times larger than a second radius of curvature between a 7 o'clock position and a 9 o'clock position.
Sealing cap having tamper evidence ring for sealing resealable container and method of use
A plug styled closure cap for resealing a resealable container. The cap includes a body comprising a sidewall, a motion translating feature formed on an exterior surface of the sidewall of the plug style closure cap body that translates a rotational motion to an axial motion when engaged with a mating translating feature formed on an interior surface of a container opening, a sealing surface that engages with a mating sealing surface of the container opening, and a tamper evidence feature integral with the cap body. The sealing surface can include an elastomeric element. The tamper evidence feature can include at least one segment defined by frangible elements. A method of use enables resealing of the container and indication when the container is no longer factory sealed.
Packaging coating containing water-dispersible acrylic block copolymer
A food or beverage container having a body portion or an end portion that includes a metal substrate with a coating composition disposed thereon. The coating composition includes a water-dispersible acrylic linear block copolymer made by surfactant-free heterogeneous radical polymerization (SFHRP). The block copolymer imparts a desirable combination of flexibility and corrosion resistance to the coating composition, and the substantial absence of surfactants during polymerization contributes to other desirable properties including good blush resistance.
Heat-Sealable Aluminium Alloy Strip for Beverage Can Lids
An aluminium alloy strip for manufacturing a beverage can lid. The aluminium alloy strip has an aluminium alloy of the type AA5xxx. The object of specifying an aluminium alloy strip made of an aluminium alloy of the type AA5xxx for manufacturing a beverage can lid, which enables secure and cost-effective fastening of plastic elements on the manufactured beverage can lids, is achieved by the aluminium alloy strip having a heat-sealable coating, which contains polyolefin, on one side or on both sides.
Two-Layer Can Strip Coating
A strip-shaped pre-product for manufacturing can lids or can tabs of a can, preferably a beverage can having an aluminium alloy strip with at a least partial surface coating. The surface coating is provided on the side of the aluminium alloy strip used for the outer side of the can. A coated aluminium alloy strip is provided for manufacturing a can lid or a can tab, preferably a beverage can manufactured from a strip-shaped pre-product. A second coating is arranged on the first coating of the pre-product. The object of specifying a simple possibility of providing aluminium alloy strips with less sensitive lacquer layers, preferably coloured lacquer layers for the manufacture of can lids or can tabs, in particular beverage can lids and beverage can tabs, is achieved by means of a strip-shaped pre-product and with an aluminium alloy strip as well as by a method for its manufacture.
