A disposable, non-toxic, biodegradable, flexible cover fitting on beverage containers to protect from unwanted contamination or spillage is described. In one embodiment, the flexible cover includes a system comprising a tamper-evident package and a cover sealed within the tamper-evident package, the cover including a flexible body having a substantially flat, circular shape and a first thickness and a bead having a second thickness disposed about a circumference of the flexible body, wherein the second thickness is greater than the first thickness.

A container includes an external receptacle including glass and has a bottom and a side wall to define an inner cavity. An internal receptacle includes glass, is housed within the inner cavity of the external receptacle, and has a bottom and a side wall. An intermediate element, including plastic or elastomeric material, is interposed between the internal receptacle and the external receptacle. The side wall of the internal receptacle includes a ring having a free upper face and a lower contact surface. The intermediate element is interposed between the lower contact surface of the ring and a support surface on a collar at the upper end of the side wall of the external receptacle. The collar has a step-like seat open upwards and toward the inner cavity of the external receptacle and extending between an upper free face of an upper edge of the collar and the support surface.

The molded pulp cup lid is manufactured by a mold with pulp suction molding and hot pressing technologies, and has a binding edge capable of covering the cup securely, an offset cup top, and a drinking opening formed on a high platform to achieve the effects of preventing a liquid contained in the cup from spilling to the outside, facilitating users to carry or move the stacked takeout paper cups, and retarding the flow of the beverage at the drinking opening.

The collar (113) is provided, in correspondence of its upper edge (114), with a step-like seat (115) open upwards and toward the inner cavity (110) and extending between an upper free face (117) of said upper edge (114) and a lower rest surface (116) realizing said support surface of the intermediate element (300) on the collar (113).

A locking beverage container includes a container and a complementary removably securable lid. The lid includes a drinking aperture, a flap, and a lock. The drinking aperture is in fluid communication with the container when the lid is secured to the container and can be utilized by an individual to drink the contents of the container. The flap can be moved to a closed position to cover the drinking aperture to prevent access to the drinking aperture and contents of the container. The lock is operably connected to the flap and can selectively lock the flap in a closed position such that the flap cannot be moved by an unauthorized individual. The lock can also be unlocked thereby enabling the flap to move and enabling the individual to access and utilize the drinking aperture again.

The body can be made entirely of a pulp-based material.
