Cup lid manufacturing process

A substantially crimpless and monolithic paperboard container lid and method of making same is provided. The lid comprises a single contiguous molded paperboard body configured to conformingly couple to a top periphery of a container for covering the container's opening. The body includes a sealing ring located adjacent the body's periphery. The sealing ring includes a sealing channel composed of a radiused cross-section that extends to a tangent ring terminating with a tab ring. The radiused cross-section and tangent ring assist providing a snug fit between the lid and the container. Despite being made from paperboard, the lid does not include one or more substantial crimps in the sealing ring. Having no substantial crimps, the lid fits onto the container and prevents fluid from leaking between the container's periphery and the lid.

A storage and cooking vessel has a bowl and a lid. The bowl has an interior, and upper and lower ribs that protrude from an outer surface of the bowl adjacent to a top edge of the bowl. The upper rib is spaced apart from the lower rib by a fixed distance with a groove between the ribs. The lid is elastomer and has a downward extending flange having an inner surface and an outer surface. The flange has upper and lower ribs projecting outward from the inner surface with a groove between the ribs. The lid is connectable with the bowl in a first configuration where the lid upper rib is disposed within the groove between the bowl upper and lower ribs, and a second configuration where the lid upper rib is disposed above the bowl upper rib.

Overpack drums

Overpack drum assemblies are disclosed. The overpack drum assemblies include a container base and a lid that may be securely closed on the base within a range of acceptable closure positions that may be visually indicated. The lid may include at least one leverage bracket for receiving a bar or other leverage tool that facilitates tightening and loosening of the lid. The container base may include at least one indented anti-rotation notch to help secure the container base against rotation during tightening or loosening of the lid. An anti-rotation fixture may be used to resist rotation of the container base.

A chip and dip container has a dip bowl that couples to a dip bowl lid, and the dip bowl has a circular, vertically-extending protrusion that extends from a bottom surface of the dip bowl. Additionally, the chip and dip container has a chip bowl that couples to a chip bowl lid, and the chip bowl has a vertically-extending, circular wall centrally located on a floor of the chip bowl and forming a first opening, the first opening configured and sized to secure the vertically-extending protrusion thereby limiting movement of the dip bowl when in transport or when stored.

Lid

A lid is provided for covering or sealing a cup by engaging a rim flange of the cup. The lid includes a top portion and an annular side plate which extends downwardly from periphery of the top portion. The plate is formed with a hole. An engagement plate is disposed on the side plate. A bottom edge of the engagement plate is connected to the plate. A top edge of the engagement plate stretches upwardly along the hole, so that the engagement plate is located in the hole. The plates are flexible. As such, the engagement plate can be pressed and bent inwardly when the lid covers a cup. The engagement plate would then engage with the rim flange of the cup so as to enhance engagement of the lid and the cup.
