A chum delivery device having a body with a plurality of openings, at least one open end, at least one removable cap, and one or more hook attachments. The plurality of openings of the body are configured to allow chum housed within the body to be released. The removable cap(s) is/are configured to seal the open end(s) of the body.

Many different types of systems are utilized and tasks are performed in a marine environment. The present invention provides various configurations of castable devices that can be operated and/or controlled for such systems or tasks. One or more castable devices can be integrated with a transducer assembly, such as a phased array, that emits sonar beams and receives sonar returns from the underwater environment. Processing circuitry may receive the sonar returns, process the sonar returns, generate an image, and transmit the image to a display.

A crustacean trap adapted to permit blocking entry to a crustacean of a protected species, including a cage, enclosing a volume and a crustacean entrance that can be closed to prevent entry, responsive to a first signal and opened to permit crustacean entry, responsive to a second signal received at the trap. Also, an image forming assembly includes a digital camera and a flash mechanism, the assembly being directed at an area immediately outside of the entrance and being tuned to return a maximum signal from crustaceans of the protected crustacean species so that a protected species crustacean appears as brightly lit in images formed, and being communicatively connected to a remote station that is equipped to receive-images from the assembly. Finally, there is a connector for connecting the cage to a signal source for receiving the first and second signals and for sending the images formed.

A device for macerating bait, making chum, or both is provided. The device has a main housing having a top openable end and a closed bottom openable end; a removable lid attachable to the top openable end, wherein the removable lid comprises at least a fluid flow hole configured to, when placed in a fluid and towed behind the vessel, port the fluid to flow through the housing through bottom openable end and through the top openable end; a push rod disposed through the removable lid; a concentric cutting member attached to the push rod at a lower end of the push rod, wherein the concentric cutting member comprises a series of blades that are intersecting and have cutting edges on a top and bottom of the blades. A method of macerating bait is also provided.
