A carton includes an outer shell (102) defining an interior space with upper and lower tiers. A divider (120) is disposed at least in part in the outer shell dividing between the upper and lower tiers. A tear strip (118) defined in the outer shell operatively connecting an upper portion of the outer shell to a lower portion thereof. The upper portion defines a six-sided structure, a bottom side of which includes the divider. The upper portion is configured to be removed from the lower portion by lifting the upper portion after the tear strip is activated.

A carton for holding containers can be converted from a first configuration for storing and shipping the containers therein to a second configuration in which the carton forms an open-top cooler for chilling and serving the containers. A beverage container cooling carton is dimensioned for increased ice surface contact with the outer surfaces of a number of the beverage containers such that heat transfer between the ice and beverage containers occurs efficiently.

The container disclosed is modified from a rectangular, closed wall container to a container with part of the walls removed, thereby allowing easy access to the cans of the container. Applicant discloses a unique relationship between the walls of the opened container and the size of the beverage cans. A package including a carton and a plurality of articles. The carton can include a plurality of panels that extends at least partially around an interior of the carton. The plurality of articles can be arranged in a plurality of rows of articles in the interior of the carton, the plurality of rows of articles can include at least a first row and a second row, and the first row can include at least one more article than the second row forming a void between a first article at an end of the first row and a second article at an end of the second row. A handle can include the first article at the end of the first row and a handle feature extending in the carton. The handle feature can be at least partially aligned with the void and can be proximate the first article.

A method of forming a packaging blank includes stripping away a portion of a stock material to create an offset void (24, 25) and blanking the stock material into a plurality of packaging blanks. Blanking includes separating the stock material along a plurality of severance lines (26, 28, 29) dividing between the blanks (100), wherein at least two of the severance lines are separated from one another by the offset void. Blanking can include separating the stock material along a plurality of severance lines dividing the blanks from one another by a blanking grid, wherein the blanking grid is arranged in a nested sheet-fed layout.

A carton (90) for packaging one or more articles (A) includes a plurality of panels (12, 14, 16, 18) for forming a tubular structure. The plurality of panels include a top panel (16) and a pair of first and second opposed side panels (14, 18) hingedly connected to first and second opposite sides of the top panel respectively. The first and second side panels include first and second corner edges (C2, C1) respectively which are free of hinged connection to any other part of the carton. The first and second corner edges extend from the first and second sides of the top panel respectively. The carton includes a first severance line (70) extending from the first corner and a second severance line (78) extending from the second corner edge.

Containerized goods are packaged for transit using a partial or fully circumferential wrapper about which a tensioned-strap is secured, to form an integrated structural package that facilities rapid loading of a machine magazine or picking platform such as a shelf with pre-oriented articles as well as shipping the units palletized in several tiers for distribution and display. The wrapper may be of sheet wood-fibre origin or other materials, the open wrapper ends permitting clear display of the goods labels. D-cuts into the wrapper provide displaceable tabs, for locating and/or separating the adjoining containers, and further integrating the wrapper with its contents, when strapped to form transit packages, able to withstand the rigors of palletized transit.
