CAPSULE AND SYSTEM FOR PREPARING A BEVERAGE
The invention relates to capsule for preparing a beverage comprisinga substantially rigid capsule body having a circumferential sidewall extending around an inner space of the capsule, said inner space being at least partially filled with a beverage ingredient suitable for preparing the beverage, a rigid base wall, integral with the capsule body, the base wall covering the inner space at a first end of the sidewall, a flange arranged circumferentially around an open side of the capsule at a second end of the sidewall of the base body opposite the base wall, a lid covering the inner space and the open side of the capsule at a second end of the sidewall opposite the base wall and tightly closing the capsule, the lid being removably attached to the flange for use of the capsule in a beverage preparation device, anda filter element positioned in the inner space of the capsule between the beverage ingredient and the lid; and a carrier disk provided in the inner space of the capsule. According to the invention the carrier disk is positioned in the inner space of the capsule between the lid and the filter, said carrier disk comprising multiple preformed outlet openings suitable for draining the prepared beverage from the inner space towards the outside of the capsule when the capsule is used in the beverage preparation device; and the carrier disk comprises between 50 and 150 outlet openings and the open surface ratio of the carrier disk is higher than 4%. The invention also relates to a system comprising said capsule and to the use of said capsule and system.

Flexible Membrane With Valve
The present disclosure pertains to a laminate membrane for sealing an inner compartment in a packaging container comprising a top member and a bottom member. The top and bottom members are laminated sheet materials. The top member has a thickness, a top member first surface and a top member second surface facing the bottom member. The bottom member has a bottom member first surface facing the top member second surface and a bottom member second surface. The laminate membrane is provided with a valve for allowing gas in the inner compartment of the packaging container to exit therefrom. The valve has a valve outer edge and is arranged on the bottom member first surface. The valve is arranged within an opening in the top member such that an opening edge encircles the valve. A surface area of the opening is greater than a surface area of the valve.
Closure for container
A package includes a container and a closure. The container includes a body formed to include a product-storage region adapted to store products therein and a brim coupled to the body and formed to include a mouth opening into the product-storage region. The closure is coupled to the brim of the container by melting a portion of the closure together with a portion of the brim to block access to the products stored in the product-storage region.
CONTAINER CONSTRUCTION WITH FLEXIBLE LINER AND ONE-WAY VALVE
In an embodiment, the invention comprises a container comprising: a base; at least one sidewall extending upwardly from the base and terminating in a top edge, wherein the at least one sidewall is paper-based; a removable flexible membrane adhered to the top edge, wherein the membrane comprises a one-way valve; a liner ply at least partially adhered to an interior surface of the sidewall, wherein the liner ply is configured to at least partially release from the sidewall upon a pressure differential between the pressure within the container and the external pressure.
Re-sealable flexible package with reinforced perimeter
Improved packages and methods for constructing packages are provided that reduce or prevent leakage into or out of the package. In particular, the package includes a base member and a lidding member with a reinforced perimeter portion that blocks channels that may form at the interface between the base member and the lidding member from extending to the edge of the base member, such that, e.g., liquids have no path to the package exterior. The perimeter portion may be a thicker region of a first film of the lidding member (e.g., a polyethylene emulsion), or the perimeter portion may be formed using permanent adhesive. Frangible layers and/or cut lines may be defined in the material of the base member or the lidding member to allow a controlled break to occur when the lidding member is peeled away from the base member to provide access to the package contents.
Package integrity indicating closure
A resealable closure for a container or package in which package integrity is indicated by a structure which breaks and/or produces an audible sound when the resealable closure is opened for a first time. The package integrity feature, in one form includes at least one strip or frangible structure that is initially affixed to two portions which comprise the resealable closure so that upon opening the resealable closure for a first time, at least one of the strips breaks. The strips may include a weakened portion such as a narrowing. Integrity of the package is indicated by an intact strip viewable upon opening the resealable closure and conversely, a broken or non-intact strip would indicate that the resealable closure has been previously opened. Package integrity may also be shown by a moveable second panel or moveable die cut tab portions.
Tabbed inner seal
A pull-tab sealing member for a container is provided having a pressure sensitive adhesive for sealing to the container. The sealing members herein include a foam layer and a non-foam polymer layer between the foam layer and a tab.
SEALING METHOD USING A THIN FLEXIBLE LID TO HERMETICALLY CLOSE A WIDE OPENING, DELIMITED BY AN INNER FLANGE, OF A CONTAINER
In the sealing method, a flexible lid is adhered onto a ring portion of a flange that delimits a wide opening of the container to be sealed. The flange is tapering upwardly at least before the sealing of the flexible lid, so as to define a slope angle between 5 and 20 to the horizontal at the ring portion. The body of the container includes a side wall and the flange connected to an annular axial end of the side wall, the flange surrounding the opening and being an internal flange protruding radially inward. The ring portion is axially pushed and heated, typically by action of a sealing head. The body is typically in PET and the flange has a radial extension superior to about 2.0 mm and inferior or equal to 5.0 mm.
HEAT SEALED LID AND CAN
A heat sealed lid includes: a resin laminate aluminum foil; and a first seamed side frame portion and a second seamed side frame portion formed of a resin film laminate metal sheet, in which the resin film laminate metal sheet includes a metal sheet, a laminate film formed on one surface of the metal sheet, and a second resin film formed on the other surface of the metal sheet and containing a thermoplastic polyester resin, the laminate film includes an adhesion layer containing a polypropylene-based resin and a polyethylene-based resin and a base layer containing a modified polypropylene-based resin, an amount of the polyethylene-based resin in the adhesion layer is 1.0 mass % or more and 45.0 mass % or less of the resins of the adhesion layer, the melting point of the second resin film is higher than the melting point of the adhesion layer by 40 C. or more and is higher than the heating temperature of a heat sealing tool, the thickness of the adhesion layer is 1.0 m or more and 15.0 m or less, and the thickness of the base layer is 1.0 m or more and 18.0 m or less.
