Container structure with a built-in opening and reclosing feature
Containers are described that allow a consumer to see inside the container and to more easily access the products. One form of the container includes a base member with a lid defining a window. A flexible laminate with a peelable flap portion is attached to the lid to provide access to the products inside. The flexible laminate includes a first film layer laminated to a second film layer. The first film layer includes a first cut line defining a peelable flap portion and the second film layer includes a second cut line offset from the first cut line that defines an opening into the container. First and second reclose surfaces defined between the cut lines on the corresponding film layers include pressure-sensitive adhesive to allow the container to be re-sealed via movement of the peelable flap portion back into engagement with the flexible laminate remaining with the container.
Packaging Container with Reclosable Lid and Label
The present subject matter relates to a label lid for sealing an opening in a packaging container. The label comprises a facestock layer, a removable adhesive layer, a heat-seal layer, and an optional release coating, wherein the removable adhesive layer does not include a release liner. The removable adhesive layer can be coated on the heat-seal layer or the facestock layer. Optionally, a release coating can be applied to the heat-seal layer or the facestock layer. The composition of the layers used in specific arrangements provides unique performance characteristics for the label for improved sealing, reclosure, and matrix stripping properties.
Meal Tray
A meal tray comprising a plurality of divided compartments each having a substantially planar bottom portion and an encompassing wall extending upwardly therefrom to form an open upper end of the divided compartment, each divided compartment dimensioned to receive a different portion of a meal; an encompassing tray rim defining an open upper end of the meal tray; and a first tear portion comprising a first tear line defining a boundary of a divided compartment from at least one other divided compartment, the first tear portion configured to facilitate a separation of the defined divided compartment from at least one other divided compartments along the first tear line.
COVER HAVING A PRESSURE NEUTRALIZING TAB
A cover for sealing and unsealing a container. The cover has a first surface adapted to be removably adhered to the container to seal an interior of the container. The cover also has a second surface opposite the first surface. The first and second surfaces define a thickness between the first and second surfaces. The first and second surfaces further define an aperture extending through the first and second surfaces. The cover further has a first tab protruding from the second surface. The first tab is configured to move from a first position sealing the aperture to a second position unsealing the aperture. The aperture permits fluid communication between the interior and an external environment. The cover additionally has a second tab spaced from the first tab. The second tab is adapted to be grasped by a user to remove the cover from the container.
Package integrity indicating closure
A resealable closure for a container in which package integrity is indicated by a structure which connects the closure to a remaining portion of the container which must be broken in order to gain access to the contents of the container for a first time. The package integrity feature, in one form, includes a structure associated with the closure, wherein upon opening the closure for a first time, the structure stretches, increasing a length of the structure until the structure eventually breaks, leaving one or both residual ends of the broken structure rippled or curved upward from the remainder of the container. In one alternative form, the structure is associated with a pull tab of the sealing panel, which comprises the closure, whereby either the structure must be broken first, prior to pulling back the sealing panel, or while pulling back the sealing panel for a first time, the structure breaks, prior to gaining access to the contents therein. Advantageously, the package integrity feature is integrally formed with the closure and a remaining portion of the container. Integrity of the package is indicated by visually observing an intact breakable structure.
Sealing Foil with Pull Tab
A tearable foil for closing a package comprises a plurality of layers laminated together, including at least an oxygen barrier layer and a cover layer. A tear line penetrates at least partially through the cover layer to define a tear strip extending from a pull tab to a tail, wherein the pull tab comprises lateral wings that are delaminated with respect to the remainder of the foil, on either side of a central region that is laminated to the remainder of the foil. A user may fold the lateral wings together at right angles to a plane of the foil and grip them to exert a force on the central region and thus commence tearing of the tear strip.
Food container with seal-on cover
A food container is disclosed that includes a food compartment and a seal-on cover. The food compartment has an outer rim that circumscribes a volume. The food compartment outer rim has tear tab guides that extend outward from the rim. The seal-on cover has a peripheral edge with two portions, the first portion is connected to the rim and the second portion is not connected to the rim and extends past the outer rim forming an overhang. The extended tear tab guides are located adjacent to the overhang and direct the user as to where the tear line begins at the overhang and extends to an opposite side of the peripheral edge. When a user pulls on the overhang, the seal-on cover tears along the tear line and exposes a portion of the volume.
MEMBRANE LID WITH INTEGRATED TWO-STAGE TAB SYSTEM
The present invention relates to a resealable membrane lid for a container comprising a peelable portion and a removable portion. When the resealable peelable portion is peeled back, the seal onto the container is not disturbed. When the removable portion is removed from the container, the container contents may be accessed. The peelable portion may be resealed onto the container at any point in the process
Packaging container comprising a container body and a base disc
Disclosed is a packaging container comprising a container body having a bottom end and a top end. The container body comprises a tubular container wall. The packaging container is closed at the bottom end by a base disc which is attached to the inner surface of the container body at the bottom end of the container body. The packaging container comprises a top end closure including a lid. The container body comprises a laminate body sheet material comprising a carton layer and a thermoplastic welding layer being arranged on an inner surface of the container body. The base disc comprises a laminate base sheet material comprising a carton layer and an inner thermoplastic welding layer being arranged on a surface of the base disc which is facing towards the interior of the container body.
MULTI-PORTION REMOVABLE COVER APPARATUS AND RELAED METHODS
Apparatus and methods are disclosed for sealing openings on containers and other structures, permitting selective removal of portions of the seal structure, and for similar selective removal of portions of adhesive elements such as bandages.
