A method for forming a shipping support for a washing machine appliance includes attaching an elongated post to a corrugated sheet. The elongated post is oriented perpendicular to flutes of the corrugated sheet when the elongated post is attached to the corrugated sheet. The method also includes attaching the corrugated sheet to a frame. The frame has a truncated pyramid base at a center of the frame. The truncated pyramid base is formed with a plurality of supports attached to a plurality of flaps of the frame.

Systems for shipping and operation dampening an appliance having a housing, a moveable tub member inside the housing, and a dampening portion are provided. The housing includes at least one sidewall, with the dampening portion disposed at least partially between the moveable tub member and the at least one side wall. The dampening portion includes a resilient material having at least one surface extending at least partially along the sidewall or tub member.

A washing machine tub lock device is provided that prevents the wash tub from impacting the washing machine cabinet during shipping and handling. The tub lock device is formed by cutting and folding a corrugated blank into an inverted truncated rectangular cone that can be wedged inside the top portion of the washing machine tub. The tub lock device includes hanging tabs which prevent the tub lock device from falling into the wash tub during shipping and handling. The tub lock device also includes elliptical tabs which bend or deform into elliptical cutouts such that the edges of the elliptical cutouts are covered, thus preventing the elliptical cutouts from damaging the washing machine during shipping and handling.

A packaging filler insert includes a first packaging filler insert end and a second packaging filler insert end. A multi-density skid assembly for an appliance or other object. The assembly includes an inner layer of at least one low density material and an outer layer of at least one high density material. A packaging assembly for a home appliance includes a base frame including a first plank and a second plank provided parallel to the first plank, and a pair of spring clips attached to the base frame.
