METHOD AND DEVICE FOR STABILIZING POLYPHENOL-CONTAINING LIQUIDS
A process for stabilizing a liquid that contains a first type of polyphenol includes measuring the liquid's spectrum, comparing it to a reference spectrum, based on the comparison, estimating an amount of the first type of polyphenol, based on the amount, adding a specified quantity of an insoluble stabilizing agent to the liquid, feeding the stabilizing agent and the liquid to a filter unit, at the filter unit, separating the stabilizer from the liquid, and discharging the liquid. The specified quantity is based on the amount.
HIGH-PURITY COMPOSITE MATERIALS, METHODS OF MAKING HIGH-PURITY COMPOSITE MATERIALS, AND METHODS OF USING HIGH-PURITY COMPOSITE MATERIALS
A composite filter aid may include acid-washed diatomaceous earth and a low extractable metal mineral. A method for making a composite material may include blending an acid-washed diatomaceous earth and a low extractable metal mineral, adding a binder to the blended diatomaceous earth and low extractable metal mineral, and forming the composite material from the acid-washed diatomaceous earth, the low extractable metal mineral, and the binder. A method for filtering a liquid may include providing a liquid for filtering and filtering the liquid through a composite filter aid that includes an acid-washed diatomaceous earth and a low extractable metal mineral.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING BITTER TASTE FROM LIQUID BEVERAGES
An apparatus and method for the removal of unwanted taste components from beverages is described. The apparatus provides a method for contacting a oleophilic-absorbing surface and/or hydrophobic-absorbing surface of polymer media with a beverage before, during or after it is dispensed so that undesirable flavors are selectively removed from the beverage without removing desirable flavors improving the enjoyment of its consumption.

Method for treating a fluid, in particular a beverage
A method for treating a fluid is provided using a particulate material in the form of a deposited layer having an upstream side and a downstream side wherein a flow of the fluid is directed through the deposited layer from the upstream to the downstream side at a first temperature. The method includes reconditioning the deposited layer and then resuming treatment of the fluid, wherein reconditioning comprises heating the deposited layer to a second temperature; and cooling the deposited layer to a third temperature at an average cooling rate in the range of up to about 20 C./min.

Removal of Arsenic from Liquids
This disclosure provides methods for separation of arsenic, in the form of arsenate and arsenite, from liquids. The method uses CuO as an adsorbent and brings down the arsenic content of liquids, such as water, to less than 10 ppb. This process is cost-effective and applicable for small, medium, and large scale.
Recovering water
A method of recovering palatable potable storable water from a process for concentrating an extracted juice, the method including the steps of: providing the extracted juice; concentrating the extracted juice to form a concentrated juice stream and a concentrator waste stream, wherein the concentrator waste stream is not palatable, potable or storable; and purifying the concentrator waste stream to provide palatable potable storable water including the step of passing the concentrator waste stream through activated carbon.

Improved Zeolite Particles For Adsorption and/or Desorption of Gases and Liquids
Disclosed are silica bound zeolite adsorbent particles which possess high volumetric gas adsorption capacity for the adsorption and/or desorption of gases. The adsorbent are highly effective as a gas source in volumetrically constrained applications. The silica-bound zeolite adsorbents possess a relatively high zeolite content simultaneously with a relatively low intra-particle pore volume as compared to the clay bound zeolite aggregates heretofore used as a gas source in volumetrically constrained environments, e.g. instant beverage carbonation processes, devices or systems.
