Automated smart storage of temperature sensitive products

Automated cold storage unit and systems for storing, monitoring, and maintaining a supply of temperature sensitive pharmaceutical and/or other products in compliance with regulatory requirements are provided. Such units contain an array of independently addressable holding locations for containers with product in one or more controlled temperature zones fitted with temperature sensors. The units include a reader to track product information and status. Product movement within the unit is performed by a computer-controlled robot. A user interface device, preferably in communication with an application service provider to provide remotely managed inventory management and other services, provides users with secure access to the contents of the unit and associated product data and information.

The apparatus further comprises a vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC) placed within the rotary put wall. The internal vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC) comprises a plurality of chutes to receive one or more items from a robotic device. The internal vertical reciprocating conveyor (VRC) is further configured to be rotatable with respect to the rotary put wall and to convey the one or more items into one tote of the plurality of totes of the rotary put wall.

An automated package delivery machine, comprising: a housing with auto-lock doors; carousels; and robotic assemblies. The housing may substantially enclose the carousels and the robotic assemblies, and substantially prevents unwanted access to an interior of the housing. The storage containers may each have a plurality of slots, which are configured to accept and contain one or more packages to be delivered to one or more customers. The rails may form a loop track to which the storage containers are slidably engaged. The drive belt, driven by said motor, is configured to slidingly move the storage containers along the rails. The robotic assemblies are configured to remove the packages from the slots and deliver them to an interior side of the auto-lock doors.

An arrangement and method for storing items is provided which may be applied, for example, in the storage of postal packages and the like. The size of an item to be stored is detected and the item is placed inside a storage structure in sufficient, but not excessive, space. In the arrangement and method, at least two, preferably three, dimensions of the item in directions perpendicular to each other are considered to determine the space in which to store it. Correspondingly, the storage structure of the arrangement comprises a plurality of vertical racks in which rack groups are present in which compartments of different width, and possibly of different depth, can be defined. The racks can possibly be mounted on rotatable platforms to further increase the capacity of the storage structure.

The present disclosure discloses a method and apparatus for delivering an item. A specific embodiment of the method includes: determining, in response to receiving a set of tasks comprising a plurality of outbound delivering tasks, in a plurality of storage areas, a storage position of a to-be-delivered item in each outbound delivering task in the set of tasks; determining, from the plurality of storage areas, a target storage area corresponding to the set of tasks based on storage positions of to-be-delivered items in outbound delivering tasks; determining, from the target storage area, target storage positions of the to-be-delivered items in outbound delivering tasks; and classifying to-be-delivered items, target storage positions of which belonging to a same shelf in a same storage area, in the set of tasks into a same picking task for outbound delivery processing.

The low-temperature storage system includes a low-temperature storage chamber accommodating a rotary storage shelf, a moving mechanism having a holding part to carry a storage rack thereon for loading and unloading a storage object in the storage rack, and a picking stage. The holding part is located such that its center axis along a direction of its back and forth movement does not intersect a rotating shaft of the rotary storage shelf. The rotary storage shelf stores the storage rack such that the storage rack, when brought to a removal position, is oriented in a same direction as that of a storage rack placed on the picking stage.
