Systems, methods, and apparatuses for shifting and staging storage structures and parcels thereon

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for selectively shifting and staging storage structures in a storage space are provided. Systems, methods, and apparatuses for dynamically organizing packages based on a travel route are also provided. In embodiments, a plurality of parcels may be stored on storage structures located within a vehicle and each storage structure may be provided in a modular assembly. During a delivery operation, the system may determine which parcels are next to be delivered and, either based on predetermined information or dynamic information, may adjust the position of the storage structures within the vehicle using shifting mechanisms and control systems coupled thereto to present the appropriate parcel for retrieval from the vehicle.

Package sorting systems and methods of use

Package sorting systems and methods of use are disclosed herein. An example system includes a platform of a vehicle, where the platform is arranged as a grid having a plurality of slots (including an open slot and a target slot). A plurality of slabs can be placed into the grid except for in the open slot. A slab moving assembly is used to move the slabs in order to place a selected slab into the target slot on the platform.

Automated storage and retrieval system with detector for detecting items extending beyond dimensional threshold

A method and apparatus are provided for sorting or retrieving items to/from a plurality of destinations areas. The items are loaded onto one of a plurality of independently controlled delivery vehicles. The delivery vehicles follow a path to/from the destination areas that are positioned along the path. Along the path, the vehicles are scanned to determine if any item on the vehicles extends beyond a dimensional constraint. If it is determined that an item on a vehicle extends above the pre-determined threshold, the vehicle is controlled, such as by stopping or re-directing the vehicle. Once at the appropriate destination area, an item is transferred between the delivery vehicle and the destination area.

A product handling system for retrieving and storing products within storage containers includes a rotatable container carousel, a robotic picking device, and an access station. The rotatable container carousel includes a rotational device having a rotational carousel axis, and a storage container support connected to the rotational device at a radial carousel distance between the rotational axis of the rotational device and a horizontal center point of the storage container support, allowing rotation through at least a storage container loading position and a storage container accessing position. The robotic picking device includes a robotic base at a base center position, a first robotic segment connected to the robotic base, and a gripper connected at least indirectly to the first robotic segment. The gripper is spaced at an adjustable radial gripper distance between the base center position and the gripper such that the gripper is as least within reach of the storage container accessing position. The gripper is configured to releasably grab a product from within a storage container positioned in the storage container accessing position. The rotatable container carousel and the robotic picking device are configured to be in signal communication with a control system. The access station is arranged at least partly above the rotatable container carousel. The access station is configured to allow an operator access to content within a storage container supported on the storage container support.
