DEVICE FOR ALIGNING A NUMBER OF PACKAGES
The present invention is related to a device for aligning a number of packages comprising, at least one bottom belt for receiving packages at a first end portion and exiting packages at a second end portion, wherein said bottom belt comprises a laterally declined portion facing a support surface arranged along a side of one of the bottom belts, whereby in use packages conveyed by the bottom belts move laterally towards the support surface for alignment thereto due to the declined portion and by means of gravity.
Item Infeed Apparatus and Method for a Palletizer System
An infeed apparatus includes an item manipulator that orients items such as cases in a desired orientation as determined by a build menu, and a row build apparatus that is synchronized with the manipulator to space items pursuant to the build menu. The manipulator uses a pusher to push items across a friction belt to thereby orient the items, and includes sensors for determining when an item is in an incorrect orientation. The row build receives items from the pusher and is selectively advanced to locate items in a desired relative orientation so that rows of items are built correctly.

DEVICE AND METHOD CONFIGURED TO CONTROL ROTATION OF AN OBJECT ON A CARRIER
A device includes a carrier to carry and transport rectangular objects in a transport direction; a meter to measure a dimension of the object and/or measure a spacing between successive objects; and a controller to rotate at least one object and/or adjust said spacing. The meter can measure an outer dimension of a side surface of the object. The controller can align the side surface in line with the transport direction. A method includes: providing at least one object; measuring a dimension of the object and/or measuring a spacing between successive objects; and rotating at least one object around an upright axis line and/or adjusting a spacing between successive objects. Measuring the dimension includes measuring an outer dimension of a side surface of the object. Rotating the at least one object around the upright axis line includes aligning the side surface in line with a transport direction of said object.
Operation of an active control roller top conveying assembly
A modular conveying assembly includes active roller control for reducing backline pressure without product to product contact when accumulating products. Methods are discussed for manipulating objects by a bump-through indexing operation, a slug-control indexing operation, a catch-and-release indexing operation, box or case turning operations, and zero-pressure accumulation operations.
Apparatus and process for rotating products
A conveying system and method for rotating conveyed product. The system can have a conveyor on which is conveyed a rolled product in a machine direction. The system can have conveyor having a first portion on which is conveyed a rolled product having an axis oriented in the machine direction, and the rolled product being partially wrapped in an open ended tube of polymer film. The system has a second portion on which the rolled product is rotated in a horizontal plane such that its axis is oriented in a cross machine direction, and a third portion on which the rolled product is conveyed while oriented in the cross machine direction to a sealing operation that seals the open ends of the tube of polymer film.

Continuous Motion Packaging Machine With Carton Turning Station
An article packaging machine and method or turning article packs, the article packaging machine having a turner station for turning article packs moving though the packaging machine. The packaging machine includes a main conveyor extending longitudinally from an upstream end to a downstream end and through the turning station. Article packs are carried by the main conveyor spaced and sequentially in the downstream direction through the turner station. The turner station includes flight drive assembly having multiple flight assemblies. The flight assemblies are driven above upper cam plates in the upstream direction, and below lower cam plates in the downstream direction. The flight assemblies include turner rods that are moved toward the main conveyor to contact the article pack in at least two points. The turner rods progressively move toward the main conveyor center line until the distal ends of the turner rods are moved past the article pack side walls and the pack is turned 90 degrees.

METHOD OF OPERATING AN ALIGNMENT STATION FOR SLICES, AND AN ALIGNMENT STATION FOR PERFORMING SAID METHOD
An alignment station and a method of operating the alignment station allows for rotation of slices such as slices of meat or cheese. The alignment station comprises a conveyor which comprises a plurality of closed loop elements, a first roll unit and a second roll unit. The slice is supported on a first loop section of the plurality of closed loop elements. To reduce problems that may occur during rotation of the slice, said slice is subjected to vibration in the first loop section.
