A system and method for tracking marine equipment is provided. Generally, the system and method of the present disclosure are designed to generate indicia corresponding to the inventory level of marine equipment used for a particular marine activity. To facilitate the assignment of indicia reflecting the inventory level of marine equipment used for a marine activity, the system and method of the present disclosure uses a plurality of equipment profiles having a defined lower limit and quantity associated with each piece of marine equipment. The lower limit may be manually input or automatically generated. The quantity may be tracked by the system using equipment transmitters and equipment sensors. In a preferred embodiment, the indicia indicate whether the quantity of a piece of marine equipment has fallen below a certain specified level as defined by the user. Users may purchase new marine equipment from third-party retailers via the user interface.

A protective case for a fishing lure allows the fishing lure to remain attached to a fishing line on a fishing rod and protects the lure from damage. The case also prevents hooks on the fishing lure from inadvertently cutting or hurting the user or other objects during transport. The fishing lure protective case forms a shell around the fishing lure and includes a small opening at one end to accommodate the fishing line onto which the lure is attached. The protective case is secured to the fishing rod by placing a hook on the case into one of the guides on the rod.

The rest is equipped with a V-shaped cutout in which a midsection of the handle of the fishing pole may securely rest. A lip of the extendable support maintains contact with the pole, counteracting the force applied to the rod by the fish, preventing the pole from toppling over. Weight of the tacklebox itself is employed to counteract the force exerted on the rod by the fish to maintain stability.
