Product conveying and accumulation system
A product conveying and accumulation system utilizes multiple moving conveyors, including a first conveyor which transports product from an upstream location. A second accumulator conveyor, curvilinear in configuration, traveling at substantially the same or similar speed or a designated variable speed as the first conveyor, is aligned in the same plane as, is adjacent to, and may mate with the first conveyor at a predetermined location for contiguous movement in the same direction as the first conveyor at this predetermined location. A third accumulator conveyor is located within the curvilinear conveyor and substantially within the same transverse plane as the first and second conveyors. The presence of this third accumulator component into the conveyor system permits additional products to accumulate and circulate on and then ultimately be discharged from the conveyor system.
Method and system for conveying rolled absorbent products
A conveying system for conveying rolled absorbent products. The system can include a first conveyor and a second conveyor for moving rolled absorbent products. The rolled absorbent products can be either partially wrapped or naked. The first and second conveyors can each have aligned centerlines parallel to a direction of movement. A first transfer device can be coupled to the first conveyor for diverting at least a portion of the partially wrapped rolled absorbent products in a direction substantially orthogonal to the centerline of the first conveyor to another conveyor for moving the diverted rolled absorbent products to a subsequent unit operation. The un-diverted portion of the conveyed rolled absorbent products can be conveyed to the second conveyor. In operation rolled absorbent products can be conveyed in a generally straight path from the first conveyor to the second conveyor, or in a path that diverts away from the first conveyor to the subsequent unit operation.
Apparatus for buffering the flow of articles
Devices and methods for buffering articles may include use of an infeed conveyor, an outfeed conveyor, and at least two accumulation conveyors defining a path extending between the infeed conveyor and the outfeed conveyor. Each accumulation conveyor includes an entrance portion adjacent the infeed conveyor for receiving articles from the infeed conveyor and an exit portion adjacent the outfeed conveyor for delivering articles to the outfeed conveyor.
High rate bulk flow sortation
A mixed article sortation system and method of sorting the bulk flow of mixed articles being of various sizes and shapes to separate destinations includes at least two bulk flow singulators, each configured to receive a bulk flow of mixed articles and arrange the articles to respective first and second single-file flows. A first article induct arranges the first flow of articles from one of the singulators to a first flow of gapped articles and a first article sensor senses the identity and weight of each article. A second article induct arranges the single-file flow of articles from the other singulator to a second flow of gapped articles and a second article sensor senses the identity and weight of each article in said second single-file flow. A combiner combines the first and second single-file flow of articles into a third single-file flow of articles. A sorter receives the third single-file flow of mixed articles and sorts the articles to separate destinations.
Fluid-based article distribution and sorting system
A fluid-based radial distribution system includes an internal passageway and a plurality of openings radially spaced around the internal passageway. A plurality of gate members are associated with at least some of the plurality of openings, with the gate members are configured to move between an open position that allows product to move through the opening associated with that gate member and a closed position that restricts product from moving through the opening associated with that gate member.
Method and device for feeding articles
A method for feeding articles includes the steps of: feeding transversally, by a first conveyor, a succession of parallel rows of articles to a transfer area; moving longitudinally, using a second conveyor, a succession of rows of articles from the transfer area; sending at least one row of articles, coming from the first conveyor, to a storage unit whilst the row of articles is fed transversely, preferably perpendicularly, to the row; transferring the row of articles inside the storage unit, positioning the row of articles in a longitudinal direction at an outfeed section of the storage unit; extracting longitudinally portions in sequence of the row, portions formed preferably by one or more articles, from the storage unit and feeding the portions of row to the transfer area.
Modular stack mover
The present application discloses a robotic modular stack mover system, and a method and a computer system for controlling the robotic modular pusher system. The robotic modular stack mover system includes a first stack mover system configured to cause a vehicle to traverse a first path and a second stack mover system configured to cause the vehicle to traverse a second path. The first stack mover system moves the vehicle along the first path from a source location to a first end location. The vehicle is retrieved from the first end location and the second mover system moves the vehicle along the second path to a destination location.
Thermal treatment device and method for operating the thermal treatment device
The invention relates to a thermal treatment device, such as a pasteurizer, cooler or heater, having at least one container feed device for feeding containers each to one mass flow conveyor comprised by the thermal treatment device. The treatment device adjoins the at least one container feed device. The container feed device comprises: an at least one-track infeed conveyor; a first group of a plurality of parallel first conveyors; a second group of a plurality of parallel second conveyors which are arranged so as to be parallel and adjoining the first group. The containers can be transferred from the second group to a mass flow conveyor transversely to the second direction, in the direction. The invention furthermore relates to a method for operating the thermal treatment device with the at least one container feed device.
