LAPPER ASSEMBLY
The present disclosure provides embodiments of a lapper assembly for use to overlap successive sheets of wood veneer or other materials along a conveyor. The lapper assembly may include a stop member configured to be rotatably mounted to a roller such that the stop member is pivotable around the rotational axis of the roller independently of the rotational angle of the roller. The lapper assembly may further include a lever arm coupled to one end of the stop member. An actuator may be pivotably coupled to the lever arm and the conveyor frame, and operated to pivot the stop member between a workpiece engaging position, in which the stop member extends into the path of workpiece flow, and a workpiece disengaging position below the path. Optionally, the lapper assembly roller and other rollers upstream/downstream may be operatively connected to a drive. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed herein.
CONVEYING DEVICE
A conveying device includes a workpiece pressing member and a switching member. The workpiece pressing member is able to move along a conveyance path when a mobile body moves, and also moves a workpiece downstream of the conveyance path by moving downstream of the conveyance path while pressing the workpiece. The switching member is able to move along the conveyance path as the mobile body moves, and switches between an engaged state and a non-engaged state with the workpiece pressing member depending on whether the movement is in downstream and upstream directions. When the switching member moves downstream, the workpiece pressing member is able to press the workpiece, and, when the switching member moves upstream, the workpiece pressing member is able to avoid coming into contact with the workpiece.
Automated guided cart independent securing device
A workpiece transport assembly, a material handling assembly and a method of operating a cart within a material handling environment. An automated guided cart includes two independently-operable workpiece-securing devices to selectively permit retention of a workpiece or a workpiece-holding pallet while disposed on a mounting surface of the cart. The second workpiece-securing device is mounted to the cart in such a way as to be cooperative with the mounting surface to selectively permit workpiece or pallet retention regardless of whether the first workpiece-securing device is securing the workpiece to the cart. The second workpiece-securing device may be actuated either manually by operational personnel or automatically by controller or in response to movement by a cooperating conveyor.
METHOD AND PALLET STOPPER FOR STOPPING A DISCRETE PRODUCT
A method for stopping a discrete product that is fed by a continuous conveyor along a feed path in a feed direction to a stop location, the method including the steps: initially moving a stop at the stop location from a reset position outside of the feed path into the feed path so that the discrete product contacts the stop and moves the stop in the feed direction by a damping length wherein an impulse of the discrete product is dissipated by a fluid flowing through a throttle element; subsequently removing the stop from the feed path and moving the stop by the damping length against the feed direction back into the reset position; and pivoting the stop from the reset position into the feed path and pivoting the stop from the feed path into the reset position about the feed direction.
CONVEYOR FOR CONVEYING A LOAD, SEPARATOR DEVICE AND METHOD OF CONVEYING A LOAD
A conveyor (1) has rollers (12) for conveying a load (100) along a conveying direction (C). A stop (20) is configured to be arranged in a separating configuration, in which the load (100) is impeded from being conveyed along the conveying direction (C), and a conveying configuration, in which the load (100) can be conveyed along the conveying direction (C). A trigger (30) is configured to move between a triggered position and an idle position. The trigger (30) is configured so that the load (100) moving in the conveying direction (C) onto the trigger (30) moves the trigger (30) out of the idle position and into the triggered position, thereby arranging the stop (20) in the separating configuration. A counter element (50) is configured to move the trigger (30) out of the idle position when the load (100) is conveyed on the rollers (12) against the conveying direction (C).
CONVEYOR WITH A PUSH-PULL MECHANISM FOR A LOAD SEPARATOR
A conveyor for conveying loads along a conveying direction has a frame and a plurality of rollers mounted in the frame. The conveyor also has a trigger pedal movable between an idle position and an engaged position, and a separator stop movable between a retracted position and a protruding position. A coupling is between the trigger pedal and the separator stop for transmitting to the separator stop a movement applied to the trigger pedal. A manual release mechanism also is provided. The frame has an end portion positioned after the plurality of rollers in the conveying direction. The manual release mechanism is arranged in the end portion and the trigger pedal is arranged within the end portion. The coupling has a knee-joint mechanism and is configured to pull the separator stop in the protruding position and to push the separator stop in the retracted position.
Apparatus and methods for dynamically controlling the spacing of conveyed objects
A conveying system employs independently controlled flights. The flights are controlled separately from a conveying surface using a linear transport system. The linear transport system allow the position of the flights to be controlled based on a parameter, such as the length of a conveyed object. The flights are pivotally mounted to a mover of the linear transport system and can pivot relative to the conveying surface to allow the flights to fit in a space between an end of carryway and a receptacle.
STOP DEVICE FOR A CONVEYOR SYSTEM AND A CONVEYER SYSTEM COMPRISING A STOP DEVICE
Stop device (1) for a conveyor system (40) where objects (43) are conveyed on a conveyor (41), where the stop device (1) comprises a housing (2), an actuator element (3) having a stop surface (12), and an electric motor (4) operably connected to the actuator element (3) such that the electric motor (4) can control the position of the actuator element (3), where the stop device comprises a stop position (20) in which the stop device (1) will hold an object (43) in a fixed position by the stop surface (12), and a bypass position (22) in which the stop surface (12) is positioned outside of a contact plane (42; 96) of the object (43) such that the object (43) can pass the stop device (1), where the actuator element (3) is provided with a braking surface (13), where the stop device (1) comprises a braking position (21) in which the braking surface (13) is positioned in the contact plane (42; 96) such that the object (43) will bear against the braking surface (13) and such that the speed of an object (43) will slow down from a first speed to a standstill, and where the electric motor (4) can move the actuator element (3) between the stop position (20), the braking position (21) and the bypass position (22). The advantage of the invention is that a reliable and cost-effective stop device comprising a brake function for an object such as a product or a pallet conveyed in a conveyor system is provided.
