A rod holder mounting system including first and second mounting bracket sub-assemblies adapted to couple to first and second opposing ends of a rod holder sub-assembly. The first and second mounting bracket sub-assemblies respectively couple to first and second opposing ones of a vehicle's existing tie down bracket coupling locations, existing tie down brackets, or a tool box, and the rod holder sub-assembly includes a cross bar with rod holder tubes and first and second locking systems adapted to removably couple the cross bar to the first and second mounting bracket sub-assemblies, respectively. The rod holder mounting system allows for the transportation of fishing rods and reels in a vehicle and locks both the rod holder sub-assembly to the vehicle and the rods and reels to the mounting system.

A carrier for ice fishing poles that is attached to the back of a snowmobile or ATV. It consists of a frame that has a clamp for fitting the carrier to the vehicle. It also has a center frame member that has a height adjustment. A hinged gate is attached to the center frame member. The inside of this gate is padded. A latching mechanism is on the gate opposite from the hinge. Below the gate is a frame that holds one or more vertical tubes that receive the ends of fishing poles. Thus, with the gate opened, one or more poles can be placed in the tube(s). Then the gate can be closed and secured. The poles are secured and are safe from inadvertent damage. At the fishing place, the user opens the gate to remove one or more poles, secures the gate, and is ready to fish.

Some embodiments provide a container and retaining system that includes a container including a top surface. A retaining apparatus is coupled to the top surface of the container, wherein the retaining apparatus is configured to retain an elongate object. A handle is rotatably coupled to the top surface of the container, wherein the handle is positionable in a first handle position and a second handle position when the retaining apparatus retains the elongate object.

Some embodiments provide a container and retaining system that includes a container including a top surface. A retaining apparatus is coupled to the top surface of the container, wherein the retaining apparatus is configured to retain an elongate object. A handle is rotatably coupled to the top surface of the container, wherein the handle is positionable in a first handle position and a second handle position when the retaining apparatus retains the elongate object.

The fishing rod carrying bag is a luggage item. The fishing rod carrying bag attaches to a person using a plurality of shoulder straps. The fishing rod carrying bag further comprises a rod carrier. The rod carrier secures a plurality of fishing rods to the fishing rod carrying bag.

A fishing pole caddy including a first strap having an interior end and an exterior end. The caddy includes a second strap having an interior end and an exterior end, the interior end of the second strap is selectably removably coupled to the interior end of the first strap by a coupling device. The caddy includes an effective length adjustment device functionally coupled to at least one of the first strap and second strap such that an effective length thereof is adjustable. The caddy includes a first sheath and a second sheath coupled to the exterior end of the first and second strap respectively and shaped and orientated to receive an end of a fishing pole from an interior direction corresponding with the interior end of the first strap and second strap.
