Methods and apparatus for expanding a rod from a collapsed position to a formed position are disclosed. One such apparatus includes a plurality of segments for forming the body of the collapsible rod including with each segment coupled to each immediately adjacent segment of the plurality of segments. The apparatus may include a coupler for coupling each segment of the plurality of segments to each immediately adjacent segment of the plurality of segments. A lure case and fishing case are provided for convenient use. The case may be used with collapsible fishing rods and provides a protective case for them. The lure case provides means to separate and distinguish lures for different conditions.

The at least one reel protective cover, the at least one rod protective cover, and the at least one retaining member are positioned in a certain arrangement whereby fishing reels and rods of at least a pair of fishing reels and rods do not make damaging contact with one another.

A cee shaped fishing rod and reel storage rack and carrier molded from polystyrene plastic with apertures with one end flange for accepting the handle portion of one or more fishing rods, and an opposing end flange notched to receive the tapered shanks of said rods. The openings are sized to accommodate most combinations of conventional rods and reels. Recessed keyhole slots are provided for easy attachment to wall or overhead.

The fishing rod shield includes a rod protector and a cover positioned over the rod protector. The rod protector includes a plurality of openings through which a fishing rod may be at least partially inserted and easily removed. The shield includes an anti-slip or other safety surface to provide improved safety on the fishing vessel.
