The initiation energy interacts with the energy modulation agent to directly or indirectly produce the change in the medium. The energy modulation agent has a normal predominant emission of radiation in a first wavelength range outside of a second wavelength range (WR2) known to produce the change, but under exposure to the applied initiation energy produces the change. The system includes an initiation energy source configured to apply an initiation energy to the medium to activate the energy modulation agent.

Methods for processing green coffee beans include selecting whole coffee beans in their fresh green unroasted state with naturally-occurring levels of phytonutrients, sterilizing and drying them, applying iterative grinding processes and stabilization techniques, all while avoiding high temperatures. A similar method is used to prepare a whole hemp powder, which may then be combined with the whole green coffee bean powder.

A plant storage apparatus for higher retention of phytochemical content of a plant including a storage unit having an inner space for storing the plant, an ultraviolet (UV) unit provided to the storage unit and configured to emit UV light when the inner space is sealed, and a control unit configured to control operation of the UV unit such that the plant stored in the storage unit is irradiated with UV light to retain a higher phytochemical content than a plant not irradiated with UV light.
