The present disclosure relates to a method for splicing a web of packaging material, comprising: guiding the web of packaging material through a splicing device comprising one or more imaging devices, a slitter, and a sealing unit; acquiring a first set of images of one or more areas of the packaging material, storing the acquired first set of images, slitting the web of packaging material in one or more locations to form a tail end and a head end of a web of packaging material, aligning the head end and the tail end and superimpose one on the other in preparation for forming a splice, utilizing the imaging devices and the stored acquired first set of images to fine tune the alignment of the head end and the tail end, sealing the splice.

Method and a device for joining ends of fiber webs in a parent roll change of an unwinder

A method for joining ends of fiber webs with a device comprising a tool element with a gripping device and a traversing punching device. A run of the fiber web from the emptying parent roll is moved to a joining position at the tool element. The trailing end of the parent roll fiber web is cut upstream from the joining position and the fiber web is attached to the tool element by a gripping device of the tool element. An end of a new roll fiber web is guided to contact with and to an overlapping position with the trailing end of the parent roll fiber. The traversing punching device is moved across the width direction of the fiber webs and makes at least one joint cut and joins the fiber webs. The new fiber web is cut downstream from the joint, and then tension control is turned on.

There are also provided: a cutting member adapted to cut a web material coming from an exhausted reel; and splicing members to splice a trailing edge of a first web material coming from an exhausted reel to a leading edge of a second web material coming from a new reel. A pick-up device is configured to pick up the leading edge of the second web material from a temporary retaining element, carried by a transfer unit to transfer reels to the unwinding station.

The roll replacing device includes an unwinding mechanism, a first fixing mechanism, a second fixing mechanism, a cutting mechanism, and a strip connection mechanism; wherein the first fixing mechanism is capable of following a sliding bracket to move along a first direction until a spare material strip fixed by the first fixing mechanism and a working material strip fixed by the second fixing mechanism are aligned at a strip connection station, and allows the strip connection mechanism to connect the working material strip and the spare material strip which are aligned at the strip connection station.

The invention relates to a method for a multitrack provision of web-like interleaved sheet material at a cutting region in which products supplied on multiple tracks are cut into slices and interleaved sheets are introduced which are cut off from the provided interleaved sheet material in the cutting region and for which a normal length is predefined which is dependent on the respective application, in which material webs are removed from at least two material stores which are each associated with one or more tracks; and in which the material consumption of at least one material store is impacted during operation, in particular in dependence on residual quantities in the material stores, in that the length of the interleaved sheets is varied in the respective track or tracks with respect to the normal length at least for this material store.

Splice arrangement

The invention concerns a splice arrangement with a first and second unwinding unit for unwinding a finite first or second material web and a connection apparatus. The connection apparatus comprises a guide, a first preparation apparatus and a second preparation apparatus. The connection apparatus also has a first and second connection apparatus for connecting the finite material webs to form an endless material web and a table unit, displaceable along the guide, for cooperation with the preparation apparatus and the connection apparatus. The splice arrangement further comprises an actuation apparatus for actuating the connection apparatus as well as the table unit.

Sheet delivery system and sheet delivery method using same

A sheet delivery system includes: a joining unit configured to join, to an intermediate section of a sheet being delivered from a delivery-side original material roll, an end section of a sheet of a standby-side original material roll; and an operation robot configured to retrieve the end section of the sheet from the standby-side original material roll and convey the end section of the sheet to the joining unit. The sheet delivery system is configured to set, in advance, a sheet retrieval position at which the sheet is retrieved from each of the original material rolls, for each of the original material rolls. The operation robot is configured to convey the end section of the sheet from each of the sheet retrieval positions to the joining unit.
