Supply of sheet stock material for a dunnage conversion machine and a method of converting same into a dunnage product
A supply (22) of sheet stock material (24, 34) for a dunnage conversion machine (26) that is readily spliced to another supply includes (a) one or more plies of sheet material (24, 34) having (i) multiple longitudinally-extending sections, including a center section (42) bounded by lateral sections (40), where the lateral sections (40) are folded over a common face of the center section (42) along longitudinal fold lines (44) at lateral edges of the folded sheet material, and (ii) a leading end (60) and a trailing end (62) at respective longitudinally-opposite ends of the sheet material, where the lateral sections (40) are separated from the center section (42) adjacent the leading end (60) and adjacent the trailing end (62) along respective lines of separation; and (b) a splicing adhesive (76) applied to the sheet material adjacent the leading end (60) or the trailing end (62) on both the center section (42) and each of the lateral WO 2020/092578 A1 sections (40) to facilitate splicing each section to respective sections of two supplies.
Apparatus and method for combining tobacco sheets
The apparatus for combining tobacco sheets comprises a first shaft for carrying a first bobbin of tobacco sheet and a second shaft for carrying a second bobbin of tobacco sheet. The apparatus also comprises a splicing unit for combining an end portion of tobacco sheet from the first bobbin to a head portion of tobacco sheet from the second bobbin. The splicing unit comprises a cutting device for cutting the tobacco sheets such as to provide complementary cuts to the tobacco sheets from the first bobbin and from the second bobbin, a dispensing device for dispensing water to at least one of the tobacco sheets, and a combining device for applying force onto the tobacco sheets thereby producing a spliced tobacco sheet.
UNWINDING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY LOADING REELS INTO AN UNWINDING ASSEMBLY
An unwinding assembly comprising first and second unwinding and handling units comprising respective robots having respective wrists movable under the control of at least one electronic control unit, wherein each of said unwinding and handling units comprises a respective unwinding device mounted on the wrist of the respective robot. The present invention also relates to an unwinding and handling unit capable of handling the reel carried by it with high freedom of movement, while maintaining small dimensions.
METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY REPLACING REELS IN AN UNWINDING ASSEMBLY AND RELATIVE UNWINDING ASSEMBLY
A method for automatically replacing reels in an unwinding assembly capable of carrying out the handling operations of the reels, as well as preparing and joining the tail of the web of the finished reel with the head of the web of the new reel in a simple, efficient way, reducing the risk of malfunctions and maintaining the correct orientation of the new web as that of the finished web.
Joint and a device for joining fiber web ends
A joint for joining ends of at least two fiber webs together, the joint being formed of at least one cut provided to penetrate through the ends of the fiber webs in an overlapping position, which cut has at least one side part and from the side part extending at least one substantially straight part and which cut, which forms at least one flap, being configured to remain attached to the fiber webs by at least one folding line substantially aligned with the direction of the movement of the fiber webs.
SPLICING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR A PAPERBOARD PROTECTIVE CORNER MANUFACTURING SYSTEM
A splicing apparatus for splicing together an engaged paper sheet with a replenishing paper sheet in a paperboard corner manufacturing system, the apparatus comprising: an engaged sheet holder for holding the engaged paper sheet; an engaged sheet cutter for cutting the engaged paper sheet to form a free engaged paper end; a replenishing sheet holder for holding the replenishing paper sheet; a replenishing sheet cutter for cutting the replenishing paper sheet to form a free replenishing paper end; a sheet end alignment device for positioning both free engaged and replenishing paper ends relative to each other and substantially aligned with each other; an adhesive tape applicator for applying an adhesive tape simultaneously to the aligned free engaged and replenishing paper ends such that the adhesive tape extends partially over the engaged and replenishing paper sheets to join the free replenishing paper end to the free engaged paper end.
AUTO FILM SPLICING ASSEMBLY WITH FILM ROLL POSITIONER
A splicing assembly for rolled sheet material, including first and second shafts for support of sheet material and a drive assembly for selectively dispensing sheet material. The assembly further includes a splicing apparatus for uniting a replacement with a winding down roll, and an egress guide assembly for receipt of dispensed sheet material exiting the splicing apparatus and passage of same intermediate the shafts. The splicing apparatus includes first and second sealing elements, and first and second carriages adapted and disposed for translation towards their respective sealing elements, a free end portion of sheet material of the replacement roll supported upon the first/second shaft for selective retention by the second/first sheet material carriage, and for translation to, and thereafter with, a portion of sheet material of the winding down roll supported upon the second/first shaft for urged combined engagement with a corresponding sealing element.
METHOD OF LOADING A DUNNAGE CONVERSION MACHINE AND SHEET STOCK MATERIAL USEFUL THEREIN
A supply of stock material for a dunnage conversion machine includes two plies of sheet stock material wound into a roll or fan-folded into a stack. Each ply has disposed on a corresponding leading or trailing end thereof an adhesive layer and a removable release liner covering the adhesive layer. When applied to a leading end of the supply, the adhesive layer is applied to opposing, outwardly-facing surfaces of the respective plies. When a supply of stock material is almost spent, the operator removes the release liners from both plies to expose respective adhesive layers, and then interposes the leading end of a new supply between the plies of the trailing end of the almost-spent supply and presses the layers together to attach the plies of the new supply to respective plies of the almost-spent supply, for conversion into dunnage.
Automatic replacement device of secondary battery material
An automatic replacement device of a secondary battery material including reel support parts to support a supply reel; a material support part spaced apart from the reel support part; clamping parts, each including a clamping roller to come into contact with the material when replacing the supply reel, a vacuum suction part to suction the material by vacuum, a clamping frame to rotatably support the clamping roller and the vacuum suction part, and a cutter to cut the material when coming into contact with the material; first drive parts to move the clamping roller toward/away from the material; and second drive parts to move the cutter toward/away from the material, wherein the automatic replacement device cuts the material as the material is suctioned to the vacuum suction part after being adhered to a material wound around a replacement supply reel when the supply reel is replaced.
