A method operates a pasteurizing device and a pasteurizing device pasteurizes foodstuff in sealed containers. The pasteurizing device includes a treatment area configured for temperature treatment of the foodstuff in the containers with at least one heating zone, a conveying system for conveying the sealed containers filled with foodstuff through the treatment area and an irrigation device configured for dispensing a temperature-controlled process liquid into the at least one heating zone. The pasteurizing device further includes at least one feed device configured for introducing at least one treatment chemical for container-treatment in gaseous or aerosolized state into the treatment area.

PASS-THROUGH SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT AND/OR COOLING OF PERISHABLE PRODUCTS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
A pass-through system and method for treating and/or pre-cooling perishable products uses a conveyor system with a treatment chamber that is configured to be contained (or closed) to provide a sealed environment and enhanced with forced air flow to recirculate air and/or functional substances including, e.g., sanitizers, as well as ripening management and conditioning agents, across the surface of perishable products. The enhanced forced air is an integral part of the system for efficient treatment and can also be cooled to accomplish rapid cooling.

[Problem] To provide: a film which is for aging meat and which is relatively easy to treat and allows meat to be aged more safely and effectively; and a film which is for preserving meat and can effectively suppress the deterioration of color or the like of fresh meat. [Solution] The present invention relates to a film for preserving meat, the film being characterized by: (1) including a hydrogen generating layer containing hydrogen generating particles which can generate a molecular hydrogen upon reacting with water; and (2) using the film in a state in which the hydrogen generating layer is directly contacted with the surface of the meat.

Device and method for herbs disinfection by plasma
Device and method suitable for disinfecting herbs using plasma are disclosed. The device comprises a chamber and two sets of electrodes in an opposed position one relative to the other, inside the chamber. Each electrode in one set has a counterpart electrode in the other set, the two electrodes positioned facing each other and being configured to connect to a RF HV power supply, to produce a plasma-generating EM field in the space between the electrodes. The device further comprises a dielectric carrier positioned inside the chamber in the space between the two sets of electrodes, the carrier being dimensioned and configured to carry herbs in granular form such as powder or particles thereon. A portable sealable container comprising a unidirectional valve is also disclosed, configured to store herbs thereinside during plasma treatment in the device, and to store the disinfected herbs after treatment under vacuum. A device for disinfecting herbs by evaporating a disinfection agent in an evacuated chamber is also disclosed where plasma is used in any of several methods to enhance, improve and expedite the disinfection process.
Methods for the control of arthropods using near-ideal gas phase hydrogen peroxide
The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for controlling arthropods, including insects and arachnids in an environment. The methods generally comprise: generating a near-ideal gas Purified Hydrogen Peroxide Gas (PHPG) that is substantially non-hydrated (e.g., in the form of water in solution or water in solution or water molecules bonded by covalence, van der Waals forces, or London forces) and substantially free of, e.g., ozone, plasma species, and/or organic species; and directing the gas comprising primarily PHPG into the environment such that the PHPG acts to control arachnids in the environment. In certain aspects, the arachnids may be totally or partially killed.
