FLOATING FEED ASSIST UNIT FOR THE PAYOFF OF BULK PACKAGED WELDING WIRE

A feed assist unit (1) includes a base portion (2) having a plurality of ribs (16a-d) on a lower surface (18) thereof. A dome portion (4) is connected to the base portion (2), and a rotating conduit portion (6) has a curved shape and is coupled to the dome portion (4). Each of the ribs (16a-d) has a first end (20) adjacent to the dome portion (4) and a second end (22) adjacent an associated side (14) of the base portion (2). The feed assist unit (1) has first and second central axes (A-A, B-B) oriented perpendicular to each other. First and third of the ribs (16a, 16c) are oriented parallel to the second central axis (B-B) and the second and fourth of the ribs (16b, 16d) can be oriented parallel to the first central axis (A-A). The first and third ribs (16a, 16c) are offset from the second central axis (B-B) by an offset length (OL) and the second and fourth ribs (16b, 16d) are offset from the first central axis (A-A) the offset length (OL).

A flexible line storage device with a case bounding a storage space for a supply of flexible line. The case has a peripheral wall extending around a central axis and first and second axially spaced walls. The peripheral wall has a radially inwardly facing surface that, in conjunction with axially oppositely facing surfaces on the first and second walls, bounds the storage space. The first wall has a first opening through which the central axis extends. An adaptor on the first wall at least partially blocks the first opening and defines a passage through which line in the storage space moves as the line is drawn out of the storage space.

OPTICAL FIBER AND ADHESIVE DISPENSER SYSTEM

A system for installing an optical fiber cable in a building hallway or living unit includes an elongated cylinder for containing an adhesive, and a continuous length of an optical fiber cable embedded in the adhesive in a configuration that avoids kinks or knots in the cable. An elongated nozzle is fixed at a first end of the cylinder for depositing the adhesive and the cable from an open tip of the nozzle, along a desired routing path in the hallway or living unit. An applicator assembly is constructed and arranged for receiving the cylinder, and for applying a dispensing force at a second end of the cylinder opposite the first end so as to urge the adhesive and the cable out of the open tip of the nozzle.
