Reinforced wood fiber core
A winding core with improved beam and hoop strength and diminished friability and method for manufacturing such a core are provided, the winding core comprising: an extruded wood fiber core member; and at least one preformed paper shell member having a split seam parallel to its major axis, the shell being adhered to an exterior surface of the extruded wood fiber core member and a secondary shell of wooden staves.
Protective barrier coating for tubes and cores
A paperboard carrier suitable for use with textiles may include one or more strips of paperboard secured together to form a hollow tubular body, the body having an outer surface, and a coating covering some or all of the outer surface. The coating comprises a coating agent such as a silicon resin dispersed in a solvent such as isopropyl alcohol and little or no water. The coating may be applied to the outer surface by using a plurality spray nozzles arranged axially or circumferentially about the carrier.
TUBE STRUCTURE
A lightweight tube structure capable of high loading is provided. The tube structure comprises an inner tube and an outer tube with an annular space being formed between the outer tube and the inner tube; a first paper ring and a second paper ring fitted at two ends of the annular space respectively. A foamed body may be disposed in the annular space, the foamed body being supported between the outer tube and the inner tube. The structure enables the tube to retain a light weight and can also enhance the loading strength of the tube, thus achieving the substantial effect of preventing deformation.

CORE WITH CUSHION STRIP AND VARYING SLOT DEPTH
A core for winding sheet material is proved. The core comprises a cylindrical tube having a longitudinally oriented slot formed therein, and a strip of soft material located in the slot. Because of the geometry of the slot and the strip, the strip may be softer (less compressed) in the central region but firmer where the core transitions from the relatively soft strip to the relatively hard tube. The leading edge of the sheet material imbeds itself into the soft central region of the strip as additional layers are wound around the core.

DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device is disclosed. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, the display device of the present disclosure may include: a flexible display panel; a panel roller which is elongated, and around which the display panel is rolled or unrolled; and a side frame coupled to a lateral side of the display panel and rolled around or unrolled from the panel roller along with the display panel, wherein the side frame may include: a core elongated along the lateral side of the display panel and facing the lateral side of the display panel; a first part covering the core; a second part extending from the first part and facing one surface of the display panel; and a third part extending from the first part and opposite to the second part with respect to the display panel.
CONVOLUTE CARDBOARD TUBE, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A plastic film roll includes: a convolute cardboard tube including a tubular body having a tubular body wall formed by a plurality of layers of a straight rolled cardboard sheet having a weight equal to or less than 300 gsm; a plastic film wound about the convolute cardboard tube to form a plurality of plastic film windings around the convolute cardboard tube, the plastic film windings creating a radial compression force equal to or greater than 10 bar on the tubular body wall, wherein the cardboard sheet includes a plurality of fibers, at least a majority of the fibers being substantially aligned in a tangential direction relative to the tubular body to allow the convolute cardboard tube to resist the radial compression force.
