Cable storage wheels
A cable storage wheel for communication cables is provided. The cable storage wheel has a channel that receives the communication cable and a plurality of cable tie features. The cable tie features are positioned for receipt of cable ties to secure the communication cable in the channel in a manner that minimizes or eliminates contact between the wire ties and the communication cable. In this manner, the cable storage wheel is configured and designed to encourage the user to wrap the wire ties around the storage wheel and, not the communication cable. The cable tie features are, in some embodiments, slots, notches, openings, channel supports, and any combinations thereof.
CABLE MANAGEMENT SPOOL
Technology is provided for a cable management spool assembly. The cable management spool assembly includes a spool and one or more arcuate covers. The spool includes a flange portion having a first side configured to confront a mounting surface and a second side opposite the first side. A drum portion extends from the second side of the flange portion and one or more latches extend away from the first side of the flange portion. The latches are positioned to engage one or more corresponding mounting features of the mounting surface. The arcuate covers are coupled to the spool and are pivotable between an open position where a cable may be wound on the drum portion and a closed position where the cable is retained on the drum portion.
CABLE REEL CONFIGURED TO ABSORB FORCES IMPACTING A PERIMETER WALL OF THE REEL TO PREVENT BREAKAGE
A cable reel may include a first reel portion configured to hold a bundle of cable, and a second reel portion configured to be coupled with the first reel portion and to retain the bundle of cable on the first reel portion. The second reel portion may include a first impact portion radially outward of a hub portion and a second impact portion radially outward of the first impact portion between the first impact portion and a perimeter wall of the flange portion. The second impact portion may include a radially outer wall that is configured to deflect radially inward to absorb an impact force impacting the perimeter wall at a location radially aligned with the second impact portion, and the first impact portion may include a radially outer wall that is configured to deflect radially inward to absorb an impact force impacting the perimeter wall at a location circumferentially spaced from the radially outer wall. The first and second impact portions may be configured to provide absorption of impact forces impinging on any point along the perimeter wall so as to provide 360? of breakage protection against impact forces impinging on the perimeter wall.

Sleeve for Winding with a Roving
The invention relates to a sleeve (1) for winding with a roving (2), wherein the sleeve (1) has an elongated sleeve body (3) with three end faces (4), wherein the sleeve (1) is provided with a receptacle on its first end face (4), said receptacle being formed by an undercut (18), and wherein the sleeve (1) is provided with attachment (12) on its second end face (4), and wherein the sleeve body (3) has a contact region (5) intended for contact with a roving (2), and wherein the contact region (5) is formed at least predominately by a paper layer (9), and a capture structure (14) is provided for gripping one end of the roving. It is proposed according to the invention that the paper layer (9) is processed mechanically in at least some sections on its surface that forms the contact region (5), and/or the paper layer (9) is provided with an additive (6) that increases the roughness of the surface in the interior and/or on the surface thereof forming the contact region (5), and/or the paper layer (9) has a surface structure created by overlapping individual paper layers on the surface thereof, forming the contact region (5), in the production of the sleeve body (3).
Twistless cable deployment device
A twistless cable deployment apparatus is provided for deploying cable. The apparatus includes a level winder that can be joined to a winch. The level winder is in a fixed position relative to the cable winch. The level winder has a non-rotating fixed spool that stores the cable by wrapping the cable around the spool. A rotating base is disposed coaxially with the fixed spool and rotates around the axis of the fixed spool. A post is mounted on the rotating base, and a traveler is slidably mounted on the post. A traveling guide eye is joined to the traveler. By rotation of the rotating base, cable is deployed from the fixed spool. A primary guide eye can guide the cable to the winch.
