MEDIA REEL WITH LOCKING ARRANGEMENT
A reel includes a core, a first flange, a first collar, and a first locking arrangement having a locked configuration in which a first end region of the core, the first flange, and the first collar are connected to one another, and an unlocked configuration in which the first end region of the core, the first flange, and the first collar are disconnected from one another. The first locking arrangement is movable between the unlocked configuration and the locked configuration.
Roll support device
A roll support device includes: a shaft portion that supports a center hole of a rolled medium in which a medium is wound; a first guide member with which one end surface of the rolled medium in an axial direction of the shaft portion is in contact; a second guide member that is provided on the shaft portion and regulates, in the axial direction, an inner peripheral side of another end surface of the rolled medium in the axial direction; and a third guide member that regulates, in the axial direction, an outer peripheral side of the other end surface of the rolled medium supported by the shaft portion.
Apparatus and method for packaging wire or cable in a barrel or drum container
An apparatus for the accumulation of wire or cable, the apparatus including a collapsible reel assembly, the collapsible reel assembly including a central hollow arbor, a fixed inner support structure axially centered on and rigidly attached to the central hollow arbor, wherein the fixed inner support has a first end and a second end, a fixed flange, axially centered on and attached to the first end of the fixed inner support structure, a removable flange, axially centered on and removably attached to the second end of the fixed inner support structure opposite the fixed flange and an inner drum assembly. The inner drum assembly including a plurality of moving inner support structures movably attached to the fixed inner support structure and a plurality of inwardly-collapsible drum segments. Wherein the inwardly-collapsible drum segments collapse inward after the removable flange is removed from the collapsible reel assembly.
Cable reel
A cable reel for retaining a continuous length of cable is preferably constructed using an inexpensive plastic material, such as corrugated plastic. In one embodiment, the cable reel includes a hollow tubular core with a set of outward radial tabs integrally formed at each of its ends. A single, disc-shaped, interior support flange is mounted within the interior of the core in circumferential contact therewith to provide structural rigidity. Additionally, on each end of the core, an annular inner flange and a disc-shaped outer flange are disposed in coaxial alignment with one another against opposing surfaces of its corresponding set of radial tabs and are fixedly secured together as part of the assembly process. The multi-flange construction enables the thickness, diameter and/or material properties of the ends of the cable reel to be adjusted, as needed, to accommodate the strength and dimensional requirements of the intended application.
Spool assembly
A spool assembly configured to support a roll of material. The spool assembly comprises a first and second flange coupled together via a first and second arbor member. The first arbor member is slidably coupled within a first at least one slot of the first flange and slidably coupled within a second at least one slot of the second flange. A biasing member is coupled to the first arbor member such that the first arbor member is biased radially inward toward a longitudinal axis of the spool assembly. Rotation of the first flange relative to the second flange causes the first arbor member to translate within the first at least one slot and the second at least one slot causing a change in the arbor diameter.
FLANGE STAND AND ADAPTER FOR FLANGES
A flange for use on a reel, a flange adapter, and a flange stand are provided. The flange may include an outer circumference, a hub assembly, and an arbor hole adapter that is adapted to engage an arbor hole to secure the flange to the reel. The arbor hole adapter may include an expandable portion that is movable between an extended position and a retracted position. First and second expansion plates may be coupled to the arbor hole adapter and connected by shoulder bolts that guide movement of the plates between an abutting configuration and a spaced-apart configuration, allowing movement of the expandable portion relative to the reel for modified engagement. The flange stand may include a base, a support portion, and a coupler for engaging a central extension of the flange to allow the flange to be supported in an upright position.
Reel Made from Separable Components
The disclosure concerns large reels used for transportation and storage of cables or wires. The present invention describes a separable cable reel which is constructed from component parts which may be quickly and easily disassembled and reassembled. The separable reel design has four primary components: a first flange, a second flange, a core, and a plurality of looped bands. The two flanges are coupled to the core and the band or bands are coupled between the two flanges.
The core is formed from a plurality of struts. The struts span between the flanges and are inserted into strut pockets on the inner sides of each flange. As the bands are placed in tensioned they pull the flanges toward each other, applying a compressive force to the core struts. When the user wishes to disassemble the reel they may remove the bands and pull apart the reel components. The separable reel may be transported disassembled. When desired the separable reel may be reassembled and reused.
Flexible pipe handling system and method of using same
A system includes a drum assembly that includes a support bar having a first end and a second end, and a plurality of drum segments coupled to the support bar. The drum segments are movable between retracted and extended positions, and the drum assembly is configured to be disposed within an interior region of a coil of flexible pipe when the plurality of drum segments are in the retracted position. The system also includes a first containment flange coupled to the drum assembly at the first end, a second containment flange coupled to the drum assembly at the second end, a first coupling device configured to removably couple the first containment flange to the drum assembly, and a second coupling device configured to removably couple the second containment flange to the drum assembly. The first and second containment flanges are configured to contain the flexible pipe.
SNAP-TOGETHER REEL WITH REINFORCING COLLAR
A reel includes a core having a first end region defining a plurality of windows, a first flange configured, in a connected state, to connect to the first end region of the core, and a first collar configured, in the connected state, to affix to the first end region of the core and the first flange. The reel further includes a plurality of first latch members configured, in the connected state, to engage a respective window of the plurality of windows so as to connect the first end region of the core to the first flange.
Reel Assembly with Multi-Part Core
A kit for forming a reel includes a core, at least a first flange and a second flange. The core has at least a first section and a second section, each forming first cylinders between a first edge and a second edge. The first edge of the first section includes a first lateral protrusion extending therefrom, which has a detent. The second section includes a first receiver configured to receive the first lateral protrusion and engage the detent via a retention structure to at least in part couple the first section to the second section. At least one of the first lateral protrusion and the first receiver is elastically deformable. The first flange can be disposed at a first axial end of the core, and the second flange can be disposed at a second axial end of the core.
