SLIDING LOCK FOR BREAK-DOWN SPOOL
A locking system for a spool comprising a barrel, a flange, and a sliding lock. The sliding lock has at least one rail that slidably engages with at least one barrel detent and at least one flange detent to prevent rotation of the flange on the barrel. The sliding lock comprises at least one arm with at least one catch. The at least one catch can be removably locked into at least one recess on the flange.
Collapsible/pop-up reel and method of making same
A collapsible reel having a high strength to weight ratio is provided. The collapsible reel comprises a core, around which a flexible media is wound, and flanges which prevent the wound flexible media from migrating axially off the core. The core is formed of first and second blanks having core portions and a plurality of spaced apart arms or tabs projecting from the core portions.
FLEXIBLE PIPE HANDLING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A system includes a drum assembly that includes a support bar having a first end and a second end, and a plurality of drum segments coupled to the support bar. The drum segments are movable between retracted and extended positions, and the drum assembly is configured to be disposed within an interior region of a coil of flexible pipe when the plurality of drum segments are in the retracted position. The system also includes a first containment flange coupled to the drum assembly at the first end, a second containment flange coupled to the drum assembly at the second end, a first coupling device configured to removably couple the first containment flange to the drum assembly, and a second coupling device configured to removably couple the second containment flange to the drum assembly. The first and second containment flanges are configured to contain the flexible pipe.
CABLE REEL
A cable reel for retaining a continuous length of cable is preferably constructed using an inexpensive plastic material, such as corrugated plastic. In one embodiment, the cable reel includes a hollow tubular core with a set of outward radial tabs integrally formed at each of its ends. A single, disc-shaped, interior support flange is mounted within the interior of the core in circumferential contact therewith to provide structural rigidity. Additionally, on each end of the core, an annular inner flange and a disc-shaped outer flange are disposed in coaxial alignment with one another against opposing surfaces of its corresponding set of radial tabs and are fixedly secured together as part of the assembly process. The multi-flange construction enables the thickness, diameter and/or material properties of the ends of the cable reel to be adjusted, as needed, to accommodate the strength and dimensional requirements of the intended application.
ADJUSTABLE RELOADABLE CABLE REEL
A reel for storing a cable coil includes first and second facing flanges. First, second and third cylindrical rods define a hub and have first ends attached to the first flange and opposite, second ends extending through holes formed in the second flange. A guidepost has a first end attached to the first flange and a second end passing through an opening in the second flange. A lock set allows a distance between the first and second flanges to be selected. Attachment positions of the first ends of the cylindrical rods to the first flange are manually or automatically adjustable to change a diameter of the hub. Bushings within end openings of the guidepost control the rotation payout speed of the reel, and a parking park feature is provided at the second end of the guidepost to block rotation of the reel.
WIRE TREATMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS
A demountable wire carrier 100 is for supporting loops of wire W and comprises a lower end-stop 110, an upper end-stop 120 and a plurality of frame members 130 extending between the end-stops. The carrier is shown standing inside a cylindrical loop-forming container 140 into which the wire W has been fed in the direction of Arrow A, so that the wire forms loops around the inside of the container wall. The introduction of the wire takes place when, prior to assembly of the carrier, only the lower end-stop 110 is positioned inside the container, so that the loops of wire rest on the lower end-stop 110. After all the wire has been introduced into the container 140, the frame members are connected to the lower end-stop, and the upper end stop is then connected to the frame members to complete assembly of the carrier.
ROLL SUPPORT DEVICE
A roll support device includes: a shaft portion that supports a center hole of a rolled medium in which a medium is wound; a first guide member with which one end surface of the rolled medium in an axial direction of the shaft portion is in contact; a second guide member that is provided on the shaft portion and regulates, in the axial direction, an inner peripheral side of another end surface of the rolled medium in the axial direction; and a third guide member that regulates, in the axial direction, an outer peripheral side of the other end surface of the rolled medium supported by the shaft portion.
REUSABLE REEL
A reel includes a first reel member and a second reel member. The first reel member includes a first barrel portion, a first flange portion, and a first hub portion, and the second reel member includes a second barrel portion, a second flange portion, and a second hub portion. The first barrel portion and the second barrel portion are configured to be coupled with one another. The first barrel portion includes an inner wall and an outer wall that are spaced apart from one another in a radial direction of the first barrel portion, and the first barrel portion, the first flange portion, and the first hub portion are portions of a first single piece structure of unitary construction.
DISASSEMBABLE REEL APPARATUS AND METHOD
A reel apparatus includes a first plurality of spokes extending between and detachably attached to a first hub and a first ring, a second plurality of spokes extending between and detachably attached to a second hub and a second ring, and a plurality of staves extending between and detachably attached to the first and second plurality of spokes. The first and second rings each comprise at least two detachable segments collectively forming a circumference of the respective first and second rings. The at least two detachable segments each have multiple detachable ends allowing the respective first and second rings to be broken down into the at least two completely detached segments detached at their respective multiple detachable ends. The first and second hubs each comprise opposed detachable portions disposed on opposed sides of the respective first and second plurality of spokes to which they are respectively detachably attached.
