REFUELING SYSTEM
20190161201 · 2019-05-30 ·

A refueling system, comprising a drum rotatatable to wind and unwind a hose, a carriage guiding the hose and lineally displaceable along a shaft parallel to the longitudinal direction of the drum so as to follow the movement of the hose along the drum. The shaft allows the displacement of the carriage along its length. A motor is coupled to the carriage and displaces the carriage along the shaft. A first position sensor communicates with the carriage to obtain its position. A second position sensor communicates with the drum to obtain the position of the hose. A control system is coupled to the first and the second sensor, to compare their obtained positions and to operate the motor.

The measuring head may include more than one sheave, with the string being off vertical center when passing through the head. A controller may send a signal to the actuator to rotate the measuring head about a vertical axis of the head into different rotational positions. The actuator also may be configured to linearly move the measuring head in the transverse direction. The system may also include a spooling drum that is configured to rotate about its central vertical axis. The guide frame to which the actuator is connected may be a fixed guide frame or may be an adjustable guide frame that provides for vertical movement of the frame, a tilting movement, or both.

GRAVITY-DRIVEN CABLE RETRACTOR

A cable retractor enclosure having a weighted cable pulley and cable pulley guide rails. The cable pulley is rotatable about a pivot and configured to translate along said grooves when a cable wrapped underneath is extracted from the cable retractor enclosure. The cable extends outside of the retractor enclosure from its upper end and provides a cable end plug that sits within a retractor module insert. Weights may be attached to the cable pulley in order to leverage gravitational forces, which result in a bias causing the cable to retract back into the enclosure. Friction forces against the extracted cable can be used to prevent the gravitational bias the cable pulley exerts (retraction forces) on the cable by bending the cable to lay flat onto a table surface.

REEL SPOOLING DEVICE

A reel spooling device includes a reel adapted to store a spooled length of hose or conduit and a lead screw mechanically coupled to the reel and configured to rotate about a longitudinal axis when the reel rotates. A guide cartridge is seated on the lead screw and configured to reciprocate between opposing first and second ends of said lead screw. The guide cartridge includes a first pair of rollers which are spaced relative to each other and rotatable about first and second axes, defining a first restriction. A second pair of rollers are spaced relative to each other and rotatable about third and fourth axes, defining a second restriction. The first, second, third and fourth axes are each generally parallel, and the first and second restrictions are separated relative to a longitudinal direction in which the hose or conduit passes through the guide cartridge.

Dispensing Mechanism with Swivel-Aiming Feature for Reel Utility

A vehicle-mounted reel utility with a cable dispenser. The cable dispenser has a swivel-aiming feature for figure 8'ing the cable. The cable dispenser is mounted to a swivel mount located at a free end of a positioning arm. The cable dispenser rotates about a pivot end of the positioning arm from a position parallel to a lifting arm to a position perpendicular to the lifting arm, and vice versa. The cable dispenser is also pivotally mounted to the swivel mount, allowing the user to swivel the cable dispenser about a horizontal arc while maintaining the cable dispenser in a central lateral position relative to a reel or a vehicle during the swivel movement. A hydraulic circuit controls the cable dispenser and an actuator that controls movement of a brake wheel from a contact to non-contact position, to coordinate the stopping of the reel and cable dispensing by the cable dispenser.

EXTENSION AND CONTRACTION DEVICE

An extension and contraction device includes a tape driving device configured to perform winding up of the tape and delivery of the tape. The tape driving device has a reel around which the tape is wound, a motive-power source configured to perform the winding up of the tape onto the reel and the delivery of the tape from the reel, a band member in which a first end side is constrained and a second end side is a movable free end, the band member being provided along an outer circumferential surface of the tape wound around the reel in the roll shape, and the band member being configured to press the tape against the reel, and tension adjusting mechanism configured to adjust tension of the band member by regulating a position of the free end of the band member.

Irrigation system hose-pull apparatus
12016275 · 2024-06-25 · ·

A hose-pull apparatus for mounting to an irrigation system mobile tower supporting a fluid-carrying conduit. The hose-pull apparatus includes a swivel, a first pipe section, a joint, and a second pipe section. The swivel is configured to be in fluid communication with the conduit and rotate about a vertical axis. The first pipe section has a first end connected to the swivel and a second end extending outwardly from the swivel so that the first pipe section can pivot horizontally. The joint is connected to the second end of the first pipe section. The second pipe section has a first end connected to the joint so that the second pipe section can articulate relative to the first pipe section. The joint also has a second end configured to be in fluid communication with a supply hose.

Compact winding device for a flexible line
12027834 · 2024-07-02 · ·

The invention relates to a winding device (10) for a line (1), such as a cable or hose, including a stationary frame (11) and a winding drum (12), which is rotatably mounted on said frame and has an interior (12B). From the outside (12A) of the winding drum (12), the line can be wound or unwound. An inner rotary guide (18) in the interior (12B) guides the line (1) continuously from a fixed point (F) fixed with respect to the frame to a rotation point (R) on the winding drum (12) and defines a line course, having two opposite windings (18A, 18B) about the axis of rotation (A), and a rotatable deflection element (18C), in which the line changes over. According to the invention, the winding drum (12) has a first cut-out (15A) at a first end, on the side of the rotation point (R), which cut-out opens out axially and at an end face, and a retaining part (19B) at the other end, which retaining part is rotationally fixed to the frame, has a second cut-out (15B), which opens outward in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation (A). By virtue of the cut-outs (15A, 15B) in combination with the special rotary guide (18), the line (1) to be wound can be continuously routed without interruption and without rotational coupling or be subsequently attached, from the outside (12A) through the first cut-out (15A), in the inner rotary guide (18) and from the fixed point (F) of the rotary guide through the second cut-out (15B) or vice versa.
