Various planer boards are provided that include a body having a tapered leading end, a guiding assembly located at a trailing end of the body, and a gripping assembly extending away from a front surface of the body. The planer boards may be securely attached to a fishing line via the guiding assembly and the gripping assembly in order to bias the line to one side when the planer board is moved through water. To allow a user quickly and easily attach/remove a fishing line, the planer board may include a single-release actuator that opens only the gripping assembly and a dual-release actuator that simultaneously releases both the guiding assembly and the gripping assembly.

A trigger tube is shaped to receive the trigger object. The trigger tube includes a detector that detects when the trigger object is removed from the trigger tube. The detector is in a “no fish detected” state when the trigger object is within the trigger tube. The detector is in a “fish detected” state when the trigger object is removed from the trigger tube. An alarm mechanism produces an alarm signal indicating a fish has been hooked when the detector is in the “fish detected” state.

Common practices in fishing makes it difficult for people to notice when a fish strikes. To address these and other problems associated with common practices in fishing, a fish alert tool can be configured to generate an alert when a fish strikes. The fish alert tool can include a holder for a fishing pole and a spike that is connected to the holder and supports the holder from the ground. The fish alert tool can also include an alarm that generates the alert when the fish strike is detected.

An electronic fish finder transducer lifting system includes a mechanical actuating device; a transducer lifting device; an electronic fish finder attachment member, rotatably connected to the transducer lifting device, configured to attach to an electronic fish finder; and a mechanical linkage, connected to the mechanical actuating device and the transducer lifting device, configured to transfer force, applied to the mechanical actuating device, to the transducer lifting device to lift a front portion of the transducer lifting device.

A fishing rod holder alert apparatus for improved ice fishing includes a housing, a rod aperture configured to hold the handle of a fishing rod, and a pivot rod. The pivot arm moves between a side position and an alternate front position. A swing arm moves between an engaged position and an alternate released position and has a line slot configured to secure a fishing line. A plurality of magnets is coupled to the pivot arm. A ferrous strip is coupled to the swing arm and is selectively engageable with the plurality of magnets to secure the swing arm in the engaged position until pulled by the fishing line, tripping a switch sensor to activate a buzzer. A logic module and a battery are coupled to the housing. The battery is in operational communication with the switch sensor, the buzzer, and the logic module.

An automatic fishing system includes a plurality of fishing machines each of which has rotation drums capable of winding fishing lines and capable of rotating in a reeling direction and an unreeling direction, a drive motor for driving the rotation drums in the reeling direction and the unreeling direction, and an electromagnetic clutch for transmitting rotation of the drive motor to the rotation drums, a hooking detection means for always detecting hooking of fish at any one of the plurality of fishing machines, and a fishing machine control means for controlling operations of the plurality of fishing machines in accordance with detection result of the hooking detection means. The fishing machine control means controls the rotation drums of other fishing machines that hook no fish in the reeling direction so that hooks of the other fishing machines are wound up to a water surface or near the water surface.

The tripod is a supporting structure that adjusts the elevation of the pedestal relative to the ground. The fishing rod mounts on the pedestal. The control circuit detects when a fish has struck the fishing line and generates a visible alarm and an audible alarm.

A spinner type lure having a magnetized portion that is used to generate a changing magnetic field during a retrieve, which is harnessed by at least one coil positioned within that magnetic field and in operative communication with a light source and associated circuitry embedded in a core thereof, such that, during a retrieve, light is emitted by the lure.

A fishing information management system has a fishing rod to which a fishing reel with a spool capable of winding a fishing line is attached, and is configured to include a fishing line unwinding commencement detector that detects the commencement of the unwinding of the fishing line by the fishing reel, an operation information detector that detects the operation information of at least either of the fishing reel or the fishing rod, an operation information list creation portion that extracts the operation information each time when the unwinding of the fishing line commences and creates an operation information list that aggregates several operation information, a receiver that obtains fishing information from an external device, and a processor that associates the operation information list with the fishing information.
