Method for compressing structured tissues
A method and apparatus are disclosed for processing structured tissue material to form a compressed bundle of folded tissues. A web of at least one ply of structured tissue is subjected to a destructuring operation before folding with itself or with another similar web to form a stack. The stack can then be compressed to form the compressed bundle at a pressure that is less than would have been the case, had the structured tissue not first been destructured.
SHEET STORING APPARATUS
A sheet storing apparatus, includes: an inlet section configured to take in sheets from outside of the apparatus into the apparatus; a storing unit configured to mount a storage bag in a storing area of the storage unit; and a recognition unit configured to count the number of sheets to be stored in the storage bag mounted in the storing area of the storing unit, in which the storing unit includes: a holding section configured to hold the storage bag mounted in the storing area of the storing unit; a support section configured to support the sheets stored in the storage bag from below via the storage bag; a drive section configured to move up and down the support section between an initial position and a final position; and a control section configured to control the drive section, based on the number of sheets counted by the recognition unit.
POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS
The present application discloses a post-processing apparatus including a second tray which receives a sheet stack ejected from a first tray, a pushing mechanism including a pushing portion which pushes the sheet stack against the second tray, a motion detector which detects a motion of the pushing mechanism, and a controller including an ejection controller which controls an ejector. When the ejector ejects the sheet stack, the pushing mechanism moves the pushing portion in a first direction away from the second tray. When the ejector finishes ejection of the sheet stack, the pushing mechanism moves the pushing portion in a second direction which is opposite to the first direction. Unless the motion detector detects the motion of the pushing mechanism moving the pushing portion in the first direction when the ejector ejects the sheet stack, the ejection controller executes interruption control of stopping the ejection of the sheet stack.
Supplying of cutouts
Disclosed is a supply device for supplying cutouts to a machine from an inventory configured in several adjacent stacks of cutouts; the device includes a manipulator to transfer, by batch, the cutouts from the inventory to the machine. This device further includes a pressing unit to compress at least one stack that is adjacent to the one from which the manipulator removes cutouts. Also disclosed is a corresponding method.
SEQUENTIAL CLAMPING
An example system includes an advancement mechanism to drive print medium into a stacking region, a clamping mechanism, and a controller. The clamping mechanism includes a trailing edge clamping arrangement in a trailing edge portion of the stacking region and at least one downstream clamping arrangement in a downstream portion of the stacking region, the downstream portion being downstream of the trailing edge portion. The controller is to sequentially actuate the trailing edge clamping arrangement and the at least one downstream clamping arrangement when the advancement mechanism transports a print medium into the stacking region.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STACKER MODULE FOR AUTOMATED COMPOSITE-BASED ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING MACHINE
A stacker component of an apparatus for automated manufacturing of three-dimensional composite-based objects for aligning registration of sheets. The stacker includes a sheet catcher; a frame having a base plate with the base plate having tapered registration pins to align a stack of substrate sheets. The registration pins are mounted in the base plate and project vertically to a location just below the sheet catcher. The stacker also has a presser with a press plate and a belt driver system that moves the press plate up and down allowing the press plate to exert downward pressure on the stack and a slide system with two guide rails that enable the base plate to be loaded and unloaded. A conveyor can be disposed so that after a substrate sheet exits a powder or printing system, the sheet is conveyed onto the sheet catcher.
POSTPROCESSING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
The postprocessing device includes: a stapling unit for stapling a sheet bundle with a staple; a discharge tray to which a bound sheet bundle bound with the staple is to be discharged; a moving member movable in both a direction of approaching the discharge tray and a direction of going away from the discharge tray; and a control section for, when the bound sheet bundle has been discharged, driving the moving member to execute a process of making the moving member hit against the bound sheet bundle or against the discharge tray.
Gathering system and methods of use thereof
A system for gathering one or more mail items. The system includes a first gathering mechanism configured to press against a first of the mail or other articles, wherein the first gathering mechanism is configured to expand from a compact state to an expanded state. The area of surface contact between a first one of the one or more mail items and the first gathering mechanism increases when the first holder mechanism is in the expanded state.
SHEET DISCHARGER, AND SHEET POST-PROCESSOR, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM PROVIDED WITH THE SHEET DISCHARGER
A sheet discharger includes a sheet discharge outlet, a discharge member, a sheet discharge tray, a sheet hold-down member, a drive portion, and a control portion. The sheet discharge tray is disposed downstream from the sheet discharge outlet with respect to a discharge direction and is a tray on which a sheet discharged through the sheet discharge outlet is loaded. The sheet hold-down member is swingable between a hold-down position at which the sheet loaded on the sheet discharge tray is held down at an upstream part thereof in the discharge direction and a retracted position retracted upward from the hold-down position. The drive portion drives the sheet hold-down member. The control portion determines, in accordance with characteristics of the sheet, whether or not to execute a sheet hold-down operation in which the sheet hold-down member is moved to the retracted position and to the hold-down position.
