Process for the purification of Rebaudioside A and compositions thereof

There is provided processes for the purification of rebaudioside A from Steviol glycoside compositions, such as Stevia extracts. Also provided are pure compositions and formulations thereof of rebaudioside A with traces amounts of remaining steviol glycosides of less than 1%. Also provided are prepared foods, beverages, medicines and dietary supplements containing pure rebaudioside A.

ENZYME-ASSISTED EXTRACTION OF STEVIOL GLYCOSIDES FROM THE LEAVES OF STEVIA REBAUDIANA BERTONI

The invention relates to the development of a simple and eco-friendly process of extraction of sweet glycosides: steviosides from the leaves of Stevia rebaudiana. In particular, certain embodiments provide enhanced isolation of steviosides by enzyme assisted extraction, in combination with metal salts, followed by pressurized aqueous extraction. Thus obtained stevia extract was further processed for clarification and purification using multi-stage membrane filters (micro-filtration, ultra-filtration and nano membrane filtration) to obtain high purity steviosides from the Stevia leaves. This improved process confirms the isolation of high purity steviol glycosides i.e., Stevioside and Rebaudioside-A as the final products, with improved organoleptic properties. Thus, this superior process helps in obtaining pure steviosides from the Stevia leaf extract, without impurities and obnoxious residues, using easy operational technology without any damage to the environment.

METHOD OF PREPARING MINERAL SUPPLEMENTING AGENT, AND MINERAL SUPPLEMENTING AGENT

To prepare a mineral supplementing agent capable of commonly used for a seasoning liquid, a supplement, a cosmetic, an oral cavity washing liquid, a plant growth promoting agent and the like, by using common materials and a common preparation method.

A method of preparing a mineral supplementing agent capable of being administered to a human body or a plant is provided. The method includes a first charging step, a second charging step, a third charging step, a fourth charging step, and an extraction step. The first charging step charges a vessel with part of a prescribed amount of vinegar. The second charging step charges the vessel, which has been charged with the vinegar, with at least one of garlic, instant coffee, vinegar, and a fruit. The third charging step charges the vessel, which has been subjected to the second charging step, with at least one of a particulate grain hull, a charred product thereof, and a calcined ash thereof, and mixing the contents of the vessel. The fourth charging step adds the rest of the prescribed amount of vinegar to the vessel which has been subjected to the third charging step, while stirring the contents of the vessel concurrently with the addition. The extraction step separates a liquid component and a solid component in the vessel, after the fourth charging step, and extracts the separated liquid component as a mineral solution.

COMPOSITIONS FOR USE IN MYCOTOXIN EXTRACTION

The present invention relates to aqueous compositions comprising cyclodextrins or carbohydrates. The present invention also relates to the use of such compositions in the binding and removal of mycotoxins from foodstuff. The invention also includes compositions that show a broad affinity for mycotoxins.

Provided is a processed citrus fruit item in which the super surface layer of the peel of a citrus fruit is removed at a thickness at which the oil sacs in the peel are not destroyed, whereby the processed citrus fruit item has reduced bitterness while containing a wealth of flavor components.

Method for Producing Caramel Food Coloring

A system and method for producing a caramel food colorant according to one example embodiment exhibits improved stability against precipitation and provides a rich brown color. The colorant is particularly useful for modifying the color of alcoholic beverages but has many other potential uses, including uses as an antioxidant. The novel caramel food colorant is produced from a variety of Sorghum bicolor that accumulates deoxyanthocyanidins in the leaves, and varieties that accumulate deoxyanthocyanidins in seed bran. The pigments are extracted from the leaves or bran in acidified water or a solution containing water, alcohol and acid, the pH is then adjusted to basic pH, the solution is briefly heated, then the pigment is used without further purification or purified by adsorption to a commercially available hydrophobic resin, and eluted from the resin with a solution containing water and alcohol.

TECHNOLOGY FOR EXTRACTING AND PREPARING HIGH-PURITY RAFFINOSE FROM DEFATTED WHEAT GERM

The present invention discloses a process for preparing high-purity raffinose from defatted wheat germ comprising the steps of percolate extraction of raffinose from defatted wheat germ, decoloration by extraction from the abstraction liquid, electrodialysis desalination, impurity removal by simulated moving bed, concentration and crystallization, with the absolute purity of raffinose as high as 98% and the recovery up to 75%. The process is not only reliable and easy to operate, but also easy to realize industrial production and control the parameters.

Composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating allergic skin disease comprising as active ingredient extract of gardenia fruit from which pigment is removed

The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, alleviating, or treating allergic skin diseases comprising, as an active ingredient, an extract of gardenia fruit from which pigment is removed, and since the extract of gardenia fruit from which pigment is removed is more effective for allergic skin diseases compared to an extract of gardenia fruit from which pigment is not removed, the composition can be very advantageously used for allergic skin diseases, in particular, atopic dermatitis.

Lipid extraction

Extracting lipids from a feedstock includes contacting a feedstock including water, lipids, and solid organic matter with an organic solvent to yield a mixture; separating the mixture to yield a solid and a liquid; and desolventizing the solid to yield a solid product and a fluid product. The organic solvent may include a polar organic solvent, a non-polar organic solvent, or a combination thereof. The lipids in the mixture are in the liquid state. The solid product has a lipids content of 20 wt % or less. In some cases, the number-weighted particle size distribution of the solid organic matter has a mean dimension of 1 mm or less, the lipids content of the feedstock is at least 20 wt %, the water content of the feedstock is 10 wt % or less or 5 wt % or less, or a combination thereof.

METHOD FOR MAKING PARTICLES FROM CHICORY ROOT

A method for providing dried chicory particles made up of intact plant cells, including the following steps: a. providing chicory roots; b. cutting the roots in pieces, having a thickness between 1.5 cm and 8 cm; c. leaving the pieces for 60-500 seconds to release a bitter tasting exudate and yielding debittered pieces; d. wash off the bitter tasting exudate from the debittered pieces with an aqueous solution containing antioxidant and/or acidulant to yield washed pieces; e. chopping the washed pieces into particles having a particle size between 1.5 mm and 10 mm; f. performing a heat treatment of the particles followed by or in combination with drying of the particles to provide dried chicory particles, and wherein no heating step is conducted before step f.
