Splicing equipment for strips wound on a pair of spools
Splicing equipment for strips of paper, paper tissue, plastic and the like, defines an outgoing strip with a first strip and a second strip directed toward a user apparatus by means of two cutting mechanisms and two splicing group. In particular, the equipment comprises an output arresting mechanism actuatable for arresting the outgoing strip during the operations of cutting and splicing; and two respective applying devices for a double sided adhesive film. The splicing groups include a respective retaining member provided for retaining, after cutting and separation, an initial edge of the first strip or, respectively, an initial edge of the second strip in preparation of splicing on a terminal edge of the outgoing strip; and in which the applying devices are selectively actuatable for automatically depositing the double sided adhesive film on the initial edge of the first strip or, respectively, on the initial edge of the second strip.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COMBINING TOBACCO SHEETS
The apparatus for combining tobacco sheets comprises a first shaft for carrying a first bobbin of tobacco sheet and a second shaft for carrying a second bobbin of tobacco sheet. The apparatus also comprises a splicing unit for combining an end portion of tobacco sheet from the first bobbin to a head portion of tobacco sheet from the second bobbin. The splicing unit comprises a cutting device for cutting the tobacco sheets such as to provide complementary cuts to the tobacco sheets from the first bobbin and from the second bobbin, a dispensing device for dispensing water to at least one of the tobacco sheets, and a combining device for applying force onto the tobacco sheets thereby producing a spliced tobacco sheet.
GLASS WEBS AND METHODS OF SPLICING
Glass web including a first glass-web portion (30), a second portion (40), and a splice joint (50) coupling the first glass-web portion to the second portion, wherein the slice joint includes a splice member (60) with at least one gas-permeable attachment portion. In further examples, methods of splicing a first glass-web portion to a second portion include the step of splicing the first glass-web portion to the second portion with a splice member, wherein the step of splicing includes attaching a gas-permeable attachment portion of the splice member to the first glass-web portion.
A METHOD FOR JOINING TOGETHER TWO SHEETS OF PACKAGING MATERIAL
A method is described for joining a first sheet and a second sheet of packaging material, which includes: preparing the first sheet with a first joint edge transverse to a longitudinal axis of the first sheet, and having a particular configuration with a non-straight edge; arranging the second sheet with a second joint edge transverse to a longitudinal axis of the second sheet; superimposing the first and second joint edges to join the first and second sheets so that the longitudinal axes are aligned, and the second sheet constitutes a continuation of the first sheet along the longitudinal axes; welding together the first and second joint edges superimposed on each other.
METHOD FOR SPLICING TWO FLEXIBLE ARTICLES, AND SPLICING MODULE FOR IMPLEMENTING THE METHOD
The invention relates to a method for automatically splicing a first article, unwound from a first reel, to a second article wound around a second reel, the articles being flexible and in the form of webs or strips. According to the invention, the method comprises steps consisting in: positioning an adhesive tape on an end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article; automatically moving a portion of the first article to a cutting plane situated facing the end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article; holding the portion of the first article downstream of the cutting plane with respect to the first reel; cutting the first article transversely; automatically moving the end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article as far as the cutting plane; and pressing a cut end of the first article at the cutting plane against the end that is to be spliced belonging to the second article in order to stick them together using the adhesive tape.
ADHESIVE TAPE AND ITS USE
Adhesive tape for flying splices of flat web materials, in particular flat web materials with nonpolar surfaces, said adhesive tape at least comprising an upper self-adhesive compound layer, an inner adhesive tape area adapted as a flat predetermined breaking point, and a lower self-adhesive compound on the underside of the inner adhesive tape area, wherein a natural rubber adhesive compound is used as the self-adhesive compound for at least the upper self-adhesive compound layer, as well as methods for flying splices of flat web material wound onto rolls, in particular with nonpolar surfaces, using a corresponding adhesive tape.
