A front end conveyor includes a frame having a first side and a second side, a lower deck and an upper deck. The lower deck includes a plurality of sheet supports, and upper portions of the sheet supports lie in a first plane. The upper deck includes a plurality of sheet guides, and the plurality of sheet supports and the plurality of sheet guides define therebetween a sheet transport path for moving sheets in a sheet transport direction toward the downstream end of the front end conveyor. A transverse scrap conveyor is mounted below the lower deck to carry scrap in a direction perpendicular to the sheet transport direction. The transverse scrap conveyor is secured to and supported by the frame such that the transverse scrap conveyor is movable with the frame as a unit.

A transport device 3 includes a transport roller 53 that transports a medium P along a transport path TR of the medium P; a paper dust attracting roller 54 that is arranged at a position facing the transport roller 53 and that attracts paper dust clinging to the medium P; a paper dust removal section 55 that contacts the paper dust attracting roller 54; and a paper dust transport section 60 that is provided at a position adjacent to the paper dust removal section 55 and that transports the paper dust removed by the paper dust removal section 55, wherein the paper dust attracting roller 54 and the paper dust removal section 55 are configured such that contact pressure when the paper dust attracting roller 54 and the paper dust removal section 55 contact each other differs in an X-axial direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a first sheet feeding portion, a second sheet feeding portion, an image forming portion, a paper dust collecting portion, a merging portion, a rotatable member, a first guiding member, and a second guiding member. The paper dust collecting portion is provided downstream of the first sheet feeding portion and the second sheet feeding portion and upstream of the merging portion with respect to a conveying direction of a recording material.
