INFUSED SALT AND MANUFACTURING METHODS
20230076295 · 2023-03-09 ·

A method of infusing salt can include heating salt to a temperature above the boiling point of water. The method can also apply a liquid additive solution to the heated salt to create an infused salt. The temperature of the heated salt can be sufficiently high that the salt remains above the boiling point of water for a first period of time after the liquid additive solution is applied thereto.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for removing geniposide or genipin or both from a material containing geniposide or genipin or both.

The present invention is a method for removing geniposide or genipin or both from a material containing geniposide or genipin or both,

the method comprising treating the material containing geniposide or genipin or both using an activated carbon having

(a) a methylene blue adsorption ability of 50 ml/g or more; and

(b) an iodine adsorption ability of 750 mg/g or more, thereby removing geniposide or genipin or both.

Coating composition based on coloring foodstuffs

A coating composition includes, in relation to 100% of the weight thereof: between 10 and 90 wt. % of at least one film-forming polymer selected from cellulosic polymers or derivatives of cellulosic polymers, derivatives of vinyl alcohol, derivatives of vinyl pyrrolidones, polymers of a natural origin, acrylic or methacrylic derivatives, derivatives of glycol or propylene glycol or combinations of the two substances or the copolymers of vinyl alcohol and polyethylene glycol (PEG); between 1 and 50 wt. % of at least one food colouring agent; and between 0 and 50 wt. % of at least one auxiliary coating agent selected from white opacifiers, diluents, surfactants, plasticizers, and anti-foaming agents.

A gelatin based substrate containing a milk based product and gelatin substrate mixture is chilled forming a first gelatin and milk based substrate layer which is paintable with oil and natural vegetable gum based edible paint or colorant. Additional layers can be prepared comprising a selected gelatin or gelatin containing flavored ingredients such as fruit or berries or combinations thereof forming a bi-layer or multi-layer low calorie dessert product. The multi-layered product is inverted leaving the first gel and milk based substrate as the top layer of the finished dessert product which may be painted with oil based edible coloring agent including an edible paint, edible dye, edible soluble ink, and combinations thereof. The gelatin and milk based substrate can also be used to prevent bleeding or migration of colors between different colored gelatin layers.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING A PLASTIC COATING FROM A BLOCK OF FOOD
20170251625 · 2017-09-07 ·

A method for removing a plastics coating from a block of food, in particular a whole cheese, operates with the following steps: the block of food, in particular the whole cheese with its plastics coating is fed to the method. A laser beam is then directed onto the plastics coating of the block of food. Herein the output of the laser which emits the laser beam is adjusted so that a removal of the plastics coating takes place by separation of a region of the plastics coating and/or by erosion or vaporisation of the plastics coating. A device for removing a plastics coating from a block of food, in particular a whole cheese, comprises a transport apparatus for the block of food and a laser apparatus for applying a laser beam to the block of food.
