An image forming apparatus includes a fixing portion, a conveyance path, and an electricity removing portion. The conveyance path has a guide surface configured to guide a sheet with a toner image transferred thereto, to the fixing portion. The electricity removing portion includes a conductive member and an operation member. The conductive member removes charges from the sheet guided by the guide surface. The operation member changes a relative position of the conductive member with respect to the guide surface and adjusts a distance of the conductive member with respect to the sheet guided by the guide surface.

An image forming system includes: an image forming unit that forms a toner image on a sheet; a post-processing unit that performs post-processing to the sheet; a conveying unit that conveys the sheet from the image forming unit to the post-processing unit; a discharge member that is arranged between the image forming unit and the post-processing unit in a sheet conveying direction, and discharges static electricity from the sheet conveyed by the conveying unit; a voltage applying unit that applies to the discharge member a discharge voltage for discharging static electricity from the sheet; and a control unit that accelerates a conveying speed of the sheet when the discharge voltage is applied by the voltage applying unit, and controls the conveying unit to vary acceleration timing for accelerating the conveying speed of the sheet in accordance with a type of the post-processing.
SHEET DISCHARGING DEVICE
A sheet discharging device includes a stacking portion configured to stack a sheet; a discharging portion configured to feed the sheet so as to be discharged to the stacking portion, wherein the discharging portion includes a first roller configured to feed the sheet and a second roller provided so as to be contactable to a sheet surface opposite from another sheet surface to which the first roller is contactable to; and an electrically discharging member configured to electrically discharge the sheet in contact with the sheet fed by the discharging portion. As viewed in a widthwise direction perpendicular to a discharging direction of the sheet, the electrically discharging member is provided so as to extend through between rotational axes of the first and second rollers in the discharging direction of the sheet.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an image reading unit, an image forming unit, a discharge unit, and a discharge tray. The image reading unit is configured to read a document placed on a document placement table by moving and scanning of a scanning body in a sub-scanning direction. The image forming unit is configured to form an image read by the image reading unit on a paper sheet. The discharge unit is configured to discharge the paper sheet on which an image is formed by the image forming unit to a direction perpendicular to the sub-scanning direction. The discharge tray is on which the paper sheet from the discharge unit is to be placed with a space portion at a lower side of the image reading unit. A bottom surface of a housing of the image reading unit facing the discharge tray is constituted of a first surface and a second surface. The first surface is a surface at a front side of the discharge unit in a discharging direction and high with respect to the discharge tray. The second surface is a surface at a back side of the discharge unit in the discharging direction lower than the first surface with respect to the discharge tray. A pulling member and/or a movable wiring are/is arranged at an upper side of the second surface inside the housing. The pulling member is configured to move the scanning body back and forth in the sub-scanning direction. One end portion of the movable wiring is secured to the scanning body.

An apparatus for dispensing absorbent sheet products includes a store with an absorbent web which is to be dispensed; a conveying mechanism for feeding the absorbent web; a severing mechanism for severing the web so as to form absorbent sheet products; a first collecting mechanism in direct contact with at least one of a roller of the conveying mechanism and the severing mechanism for collecting negative electrical charges; a second collecting mechanism in direct contact with the absorbent web for collecting positive electrical charges from the web; and a conductive material in direct contact with the first collecting mechanism and the second collecting mechanism. The conductive material, the first collecting mechanism, and the second collecting mechanism are configured such that the negative electrical charges of the first collecting mechanism and the positive electrical charges of the second collection mechanism are mutually cancelled.

A control method for controlling a printing apparatus includes storing a static elimination setting value with respect to each sheet, printing an image on a sheet, and in a case where the static elimination setting value stored for the sheet is a numerical value, performing control to eliminate static from the sheet based on the numerical value by using a static elimination apparatus, and in a case where the setting value stored for the sheet is a setting value indicating that a setting value of a hardware setting unit of the static elimination apparatus is used, performing control to eliminate static from the sheet based on a setting value set by using the hardware setting unit.

A medium conveying apparatus includes a housing in which a paper feeding port is provided, a paper feeding roller configured to convey paper through the paper feeding port, a drive shaft to which the paper feeding roller is attached, the drive shaft extending in a Y direction intersecting a conveying direction of the paper, and an elastic roller attached to the drive shaft and configured to prevent sound occurring on the inside of the housing from leaking to the outside of the housing through the paper feeding port. The elastic roller comes into contact with the paper conveyed by the paper feeding roller and removes electric charges of the paper.

A static elimination device includes: a pair of static elimination rollers that performs static elimination by allowing passage of a sheet-like material to be sandwiched between the pair of static elimination rollers; and a power supply unit that supplies a voltage for static elimination to at least one static elimination roller of the pair of static elimination rollers, wherein the pair of static elimination rollers is a pair of static elimination rollers in which contact pressures at ends in an axial direction are lower than a contact pressure at a portion other than the ends.
