A Method and a Machinery for Making an Informational Item.
The present invention provides methods (100a or 100b or 100c) and machinery (200a, 200b & 200c) for making informational items (550a, 550b & 540c). The methods comprise steps of feeding a sheet (480a, 480b 480c) to a first folding machine (210a, 210b, 210c) for obtaining a strip (500a, 500b 500c).The strip is virtually divided into equal segments by marking fold lines thereon. A first cross folds on the strip using a second folding machine for obtaining a first folded strip (510a or 510b) having a first folded segment (512a or 512b) and a second folded segment (514a or 514b) with equal or unequal predefined lengths. A plurality of cross folds is performed on the first folded strip for making the final informational item. The methods and the machinery decrease the value of the ratio of the layer thickness (t.sub.s), thereby increases the easiness of folding operations.
Print media edge repair
Examples described herein include a print media edge repair system that includes a first repair element disposed adjacent to a media handling path to repair a leading edge of a sheet of print media as the sheet of print media moves into a position relative to a printing system associated with the print media edge repair system. The print media repair system may also include a second repair element disposed opposite the first repair element across the media handling path to repair a trailing edge of the sheet of print media as the sheet of print media moves into the position relative to a printing system.
PREVENTING THE FLUTTERING OF THE TAIL IN FILM PRINTING
A method and device for carrying out a reel splice to avoid the fluttering of tails makes it possible to allow the tail to also adhere across its entire length, in particular on a web with high mechanical strength. When using a fluid-repelling substrate, an adhesive-free liquid is applied to a new roll and/or to at least a portion of the side of the tail facing the web. The method and device can be used in reel splicers which process fluid-repellent substrates, such as for example plastic films, metal films or laminated laminates, so that a sticking out or fluttering of the tail is avoided.
Medium processing apparatus and image forming system incorporating same
A medium processing apparatus includes a conveyor, a receptacle, a liquid applier, and a crimper. The conveyor conveys a medium. The receptacle holds the medium conveyed by the conveyor. The liquid applier is disposed upstream from the receptacle in a conveyance direction of the medium to apply liquid to a liquid application position on the medium conveyed by the conveyor. The crimper presses and deforms the liquid application position on a plurality of media including the medium held on the receptacle to bind the plurality of media.
Medium processing apparatus and image forming system incorporating same
A medium processing apparatus includes a conveyor, a liquid applier, and a crimper. The conveyor conveys a medium. The liquid applier applies liquid to a part of the medium conveyed by the conveyor. The medium is at least one medium. The crimper presses and deforms a bundle of media including the medium to which the liquid is applied by the liquid applier, to bind the bundle of media. The liquid applier includes a liquid application member and a retained liquid amount detector. The liquid application member applies the liquid to a position to be bound by the crimper on the medium. The retained liquid amount detector detects an amount of the liquid retained by the liquid application member.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SHORT FIBERS, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING NONWOVEN FABRIC, SHORT FIBER MANUFACTURING DEVICE, AND NONWOVEN FABRIC MANUFACTURING DEVICE
A method for manufacturing short fibers includes relaxing entanglement of crimped cellulose acetate fibers in a tow band by applying a tension in a predetermined transfer direction to the tow band transferred in the transfer direction, the tow band containing the crimped cellulose acetate fibers and being impregnated with moisture, and forming short fibers by cutting the tow band in which the entanglement is relaxed.
Medium processing apparatus and image forming system incorporating same
A medium processing apparatus includes a crimper, a liquid applier, a driving source, and a binding load detector. The crimper presses and deforms a part of a medium bundle, which is a plurality of sheet-shaped media bundled, to bind the medium bundle. The liquid applier applies liquid to a position on the media at which binding is to be performed by the crimper. The driving source operates the crimper. The binding load detector detects a load of the crimper during the binding. The liquid applier adjusts an amount of the liquid to be applied to the media in accordance with a magnitude of the load during the binding detected by the binding load detector.
Post processing device and printing system
There is provided a post processing device including a mounting portion on which a medium is temporarily mounted, a post processing unit that performs post processing on the medium mounted on the mounting portion, a discharging tray on which the medium is stacked after being discharged, and a suppressing unit that suppresses deformation of the medium mounted on the mounting portion.
Medium processing apparatus and image forming system incorporating same
A medium processing apparatus includes a conveyor, a liquid applier, and a crimper. The conveyor conveys a medium. The liquid applier performs liquid application of applying liquid to a part of the medium conveyed by the conveyor, the medium being at least one medium. The crimper presses and deforms a bundle of media including the medium to which the liquid is applied by the liquid applier, to bind the bundle of media. The liquid applier adjusts an application amount of the liquid in the liquid application according to an environmental condition that is a factor that affects a binding strength with which the bundle of media is bound by pressing and deforming of the crimper.
Image forming apparatus, image forming system and recording medium
An image forming apparatus includes: a conveyance section configured to convey a sheet in a direction opposite to a first conveyance direction during image formation, the direction being a second conveyance direction; and a distortion correction section disposed on an upstream side of a transfer nip in the first conveyance direction and configured to correct, when the sheet is conveyed by the conveyance section in the second conveyance direction, distortion of the sheet generated when the sheet passes through a fixing nip.
