MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS
A printer as a medium processing apparatus includes a transport path through which a paper being transported passes, a recording head that records on the paper on the transport path, and a platen that forms at least a portion of the transport path as a path forming member with which the paper comes into contact, in which a surface resistance value of the path forming member changes according to an applied voltage of the medium.
Paper feeding device
A paper feeding device of an embodiment includes a paper feed tray, a blower, and a flow regulating member. A paper bundle in which a plurality of sheets of paper are stacked can be placed on the paper feed tray. The blower is positioned next to the paper bundle placed on the paper feed tray. The blower can generate airflow. The flow regulating member is positioned above the paper bundle placed on the paper feed tray. The airflow from the blower causes the flow regulating member to generate a negative pressure between the flow regulating member and the uppermost sheet of paper of the paper bundle.
Media sheet transport apparatus and method
A media sheet drive has a continuous belt of a dielectric material for transporting sheet media supported on the belt in a transport direction. A launch mechanism is used to launch a sheet medium onto a top surface of the belt. A charging circuit including a charging head is used to charge a top surface of the sheet medium and the belt as the sheet medium is launched. Charging acts to generate an electrostatic tacking force to tack the sheet medium to the belt. To prevent high electric field near the belt top surface which might otherwise affect the printing process, a neutralizing circuit is positioned downstream of the charging circuit to reduce electric field near the top of the belt by balancing charge at the top and bottom of the belt while keeping the sheet medium tacked to the belt.
Recording apparatus
A recording apparatus includes: an apparatus body having an inclined support portion that supports a medium in an inclined position, and a feed roller that feeds the medium supported by the inclined support portion; and an opening/closing body that opens and closes an upper part of the apparatus body. The apparatus body has a cover member that covers an upper part of the feed roller and a vicinity thereof. The cover member has an opening through which the feed roller is exposed.
Sheet feeding device and image forming apparatus employing the same
A sheet feeding device has a sheet feed tray, a metallic pressure plate configured to support the plurality of sheets, the sheet feed tray being rockable about a rocking fulcrum between a descending position and an ascending position, a sheet feed roller configured to convey sheets supported by the pressure plate in a sheet conveying direction one by one, and an elastic member made of metal and arranged on the sheet feed tray, the elastic member engaging with the pressure plate and being electrically connected to the pressure plate, the elastic member contacting metal arranged outside the sheet feed tray to ground the pressure plate. The pressure plate has an engaging part configured to engage with the elastic member, the engaging part displacing in a direction where a contact pressure with respect to the elastic member increases when the pressure plate displaced from the descending position to the ascending position.
Sheet discharging device
A sheet discharging device includes a stacking portion configured to stack a sheet; a discharging portion configured to feed the sheet so as to be discharged to the stacking portion, wherein the discharging portion includes a first roller configured to feed the sheet and a second roller provided so as to be contactable to a sheet surface opposite from another sheet surface to which the first roller is contactable to; and an electrically discharging member configured to electrically discharge the sheet in contact with the sheet fed by the discharging portion. As viewed in a widthwise direction perpendicular to a discharging direction of the sheet, the electrically discharging member is provided so as to extend through between rotational axes of the first and second rollers in the discharging direction of the sheet.
Paper sheet transportation apparatus
A paper sheet handling apparatus includes: an accumulation part in which paper sheets are accumulated; and a guide part on which at least leading-edge sides of the paper sheets within the accumulation part in an entering direction of the paper sheets entering the accumulation part are placed, wherein the guide part extends in the entering direction obliquely upward and is lowered under a weight of the paper sheets.
