Sheet feed apparatus and image forming apparatus having the same

A sheet feed apparatus includes a sheet separation unit, and the sheet separation unit includes a separation roller that is provided so as to be brought into contact to an outer peripheral surface of a sheet feed roller, and separates a sheet fed by the sheet feed roller into one. The sheet separation unit comprises a hook for rotatably supporting the sheet separation unit in a main body casing of the sheet feed apparatus and an engaging claw that makes the sheet separation unit engage with the main body casing. Therefore, the sheet separation unit is held in the main body casing detachably.

Transport device

A transport device includes a drive roller and a driven roller. The drive roller transports paper-sheets in a predetermined transport direction by rotation thereof. The driven roller rotates with rotation of the drive roller, and regardless of from which direction the paper-sheets hit a contact point with the first roller, moves in a direction diagonally forward than a vertical direction with respect to the transport direction. The transport device further includes a bearing groove formed so that a shaft of the driven roller moves in a direction diagonally forward than the vertical direction with respect to the transport direction along an inclined surface.

Image processing devices and sheet feeding devices

An image processing device includes first and second feeding units. The first feeding unit feeds a sheet toward the second feeding unit in a sheet feeding direction via a sheet feeding path. The device further includes an image processing portion. The first feeding unit is in the path upstream of the processing portion and includes a first shaft rotating in the feeding direction. The second feeding unit is in the path downstream of the processing portion, and the first and the second units feed and hold the sheet. The second feeding unit includes a second shaft rotating in the feeding direction. The device includes a first supporting member supporting first and second ends of the first shaft, a second supporting member supporting first and second ends of the second shaft, and a third supporting member supporting one shaft at a predetermined portion which is not either end of either shaft.

Paper separation mechanism

A paper separation mechanism includes a separation roller assembly, a one-way clutch module, a transmission gear assembly connected with and driving the one-way clutch module, a driving motor for driving the transmission gear assembly, and a locking module. The separation roller assembly includes a separation shaft, a separation roller fastened around the separation shaft, and a pickup roller disposed to the separation roller. The one-way clutch module includes a gear shaft, and a one-way clutch mounted around the gear shaft. The locking module includes a swing arm, a hooking portion fastened to a bottom of the swing arm, a blocking portion fastened under the swing arm, and a spring disposed to the bottom of the swing arm. One side of the swing arm is fastened to the gear shaft, the other side of the swing arm is fastened to the separation shaft.

A sheet conveying apparatus includes a conveying roller, a pinch roller, a holding member, and a pressing device. The pinch roller includes a roller shaft and a roller body rotatable relative to the roller shaft. The roller shaft includes a first end portion and a second end portion. The holding member holds the roller shaft movably in a first direction. The pressing device presses the roller shaft in a pressing direction such that the roller body is pressed against a peripheral surface of the conveying roller. The first end portion of the roller shaft has a first contact surface being a planar surface. The second end portion of the roller shaft has a second contact surface being a planar surface. The roller shaft is disposed such that the first contact surface and the second contact surface are oriented in the pressing direction.

Door-actuated feed roll separator for an imaging device

An imaging device having a door-actuated feed roll separator mechanism. A pair of opposed panels of a frame of the imaging device are positioned parallel to a media path. A feed roll pair in the media path has a drive roll fixedly and rotatably mounted between the panels and a backup roll mounted to a pair of release assemblies that are slidably mounted to the panels. Biasing members bias the backup roll into contact with the drive roll forming a feed nip. A door pivotally mounted along a bottom end to the frame substantially covers the media path. A pair of tethers connect the pair of release assemblies to the door. With the door lowered, its weight applies a release force to the backup roll separating it from the drive roll to allow for easier removal of a media sheet jammed in the feed nip.

An imaging device having a door-actuated feed roll separator mechanism. A pair of opposed panels of a frame of the imaging device are positioned parallel to a media path. A feed roll pair in the media path has a drive roll fixedly and rotatably mounted between the panels and a backup roll translateably mounted between the panels. A pair of cam followers are rotatably mounted to the backup roll. The backup roll is biased against the drive roll forming a feed nip. A door pivotally mounted along a bottom end to the frame substantially covers the media path. A pair of door-mounted, spring-biased actuators engage with the pair of cam followers. With the door lowered, the cam followers rotate with a camming surface thereon contacting the drive roll, translating the backup roll away from the drive roll and opening the feed nip to allow for removal of jammed media.

Conveyor and ink-jet recording apparatus

A conveyor includes: a first roller; a second roller opposed to the first roller; a roller holder including a roller supporter; a frame supporting the roller holder and having a first surface and second surface; and a moving member that is moved to move the roller supporter. The roller holder includes: a contact portion that is located upstream of the roller supporter in a conveying direction and contacts the second surface; a thin portion disposed between the roller supporter and the contact portion; and an engaging portion engaged with the moving member at a position located downstream of the thin portion in the conveying direction. The roller supporter is moved from a first position to a second position by bending of the thin portion, which bending is caused when the engaging portion is moved away from the second roller with movement of the moving member.
