The punch shift unit shifts in the same direction as the shift roller, a shift amount of the punch shift unit is set to be equal to a shift amount of the shift roller or more, and the end portion processing unit is thereby already positioned in an end portion processing position or a position near the processing position after shifting the sheet.

A paper conveying device includes: a roller shaft having a first engaging portion and configured to rotate integrally with the first engaging portion; and a roller unit having a second engaging portion and provided on the roller shaft, the roller unit being configured to convey a sheet of paper as the roller unit rotates while being in contact with the sheet of paper. In an engaged state where the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion engage with each other, the roller unit is restricted from moving in an axis direction relative to the roller shaft. In a disengaged state where the first engaging portion and the second engaging portion disengage from each other, the roller unit is movable in the axis direction relative to the roller shaft.

In the sheet width direction, the sheet setting area is arranged as being overlapped with a moving area of an end of the one side of the punching unit in the sheet width direction.

An apparatus for aligning at least one note of value along a transport path includes at least one transport element driven by at least one first drive unit and at least one counter-pressure element arranged opposite to the transport element. The transport path of the note of value extends between the transport element and the counter-pressure element. The counter-pressure element is ball-shaped and is mounted so as to be freely rotatable. Further, the apparatus includes a second drive unit for displacing the transport element along its axis of rotation so that a note of value arranged between the transport element and the counter-pressure element is moved transversely to the transport direction during displacement of the transport element.

An image forming apparatus includes a controller to move a sheet, in an image formation process on a first surface, to a standard position in a width direction and move the sheet, in an image formation process on a second surface, in the width direction based on a detected position in a case where a difference between the standard position and a first position in the width direction is equal to or smaller than a predetermined value. The controller moves the sheet, in the image formation process on the first surface, by the predetermined value in the width direction and moves the sheet, in the image formation process on the second surface, in the width direction based on detected positions in a case where the difference between the standard position and the first position in the width direction is larger than the predetermined value.

A sheet conveying device, which is included in an image forming apparatus and a post processing device, includes a position corrector and either one of a rolling body and a contact resistance reducer. The position corrector is configured to convey a sheet and correct a position of the sheet. The rolling body is disposed at least one of an upstream side and a downstream side of a sheet conveyance passage from the position corrector in a sheet conveying direction and is configured to roll in at least a direction intersecting the sheet conveying direction. The contact resistance reducer is configured to reduce contact resistance generated due to contact of the sheet to a neighboring part when the position of the sheet is corrected by the position corrector.
Sheet conveying device and image forming apparatus incorporating the sheet conveying device
A sheet conveying device, which is included in an image forming apparatus, includes a pair of rollers configured to convey a sheet in a sheet conveyance passage, a detector configured to optically detect an attitude of the sheet, one of a rotation device to rotate the pair of rollers in a direction parallel to a plane of the sheet and a moving device to move the pair of rollers in a width direction, and a controller configured to correct the attitude of the pair of rollers at a time interval, based on a detection result obtained by the detector. The controller performs the correcting operation by setting, according to reflectance of the sheet, at least one of a light emission time of the detector, the time interval of the correcting operation, light emission intensity of the detector and a conveying speed of the sheet.
