A sheet conveying device includes a driving roller, a driven roller and a pair of bearing members. The pair of bearing members is configured to rotatably support both ends of a rotating shaft of the driven roller. The bearing member has a supporting part and a pressing part. The supporting part is formed by winding an end portion on one side of a wire rod in a spiral shape. The supporting part has a shaft hole through which one end of the rotating shaft can be inserted. The pressing part is formed by winding an end portion on the other side of the wire rod in a spiral shape in an orthogonal direction to the rotating shaft. The pressing part is disposed so as to press the supporting part in a direction in which the driven roller comes into pressure contact with the outer face of the driving roller.
SHEET CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet conveying device includes a first roller, a second roller, and a pressing portion. The pressing portion includes a pressing member contacting the first roller from its side opposite from the second roller and a pressing urging member urging the pressing member toward the second roller. The first roller has a step portion formed in an outer circumferential part of it all over its circumference. The step portion has an outer diameter smaller than the outer diameter of a contact region with the second roller and is contacted by the pressing member.

A medium transport device includes: a feeding roller that feeds a medium mounted on a medium mounting section; a separation roller that nips the medium with the feeding roller to separate the medium and is configured to rotate in a first rotation direction in which the medium is transported downstream and a second rotation direction that is opposite to the first rotation direction; a pressing member that presses the separation roller against the feeding roller; a pressing force change portion that changes a pressing force of the pressing member; and a single drive source that generates a driving force for the separation roller and a driving force for the pressing force change portion.
