Sheet feeder and image forming apparatus incorporating same
A sheet feeder, which is incorporated in an image forming apparatus, includes an endless attraction belt that is rotatably disposed facing a top surface of a sheet stack, a belt charger to attract an uppermost sheet of the sheet stack, and a sheet separator to press the attraction belt against the sheet stack, bend a contact region to which the uppermost sheet is attracted and contacted to the attraction belt, and separate the uppermost sheet from a subsequent sheet or other sheet of the sheet stack. In this configuration, a curvature of a contact surface of the sheet separator with respect to the attraction belt is changeable.
Movable platen in document handling systems for an automated teller machine
Systems and methods of the invention relate to reducing a number of jams that can occur in an automated teller machine with the employment of a moveable platen that increases a width of a channel for documents. A document analysis area can receive a document via a first transport path, wherein the document analysis area can include a channel in which the document travels to enable at least one scan component to capture an image of the document. The channel is created by one or more platen. The one or more platen can be movable to increase the width of the channel so as to allow documents to pass through the document analysis area without causing a jam or error for the automated teller machine.
Sheet conveying apparatus and image forming apparatus
A reversing unit has a drive roller, a discharge roller for forming a first nip portion N1 together with the drive roller, and a conveyance roller for forming a second nip portion together with the drive roller. The reversing unit moves any one of the rollers and nips a sheet at a plurality of nip portions when moving the roller to switch the nip portion for nipping a sheet from a first nip portion to a second nip portion and change the sheet conveyance direction from a first direction to a second direction.

The first concave wheel rotates synchronously with the upper conveying rotating shaft.
BANKNOTE SEPARATION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR BANKNOTE BUNDLE RECEIVING MACHINE
A banknote separation apparatus, for a banknote bundle receiving machine, includes a guide unit, a pickup roller unit, a pickup roller raising/lowering unit, a feeding roller unit and a gate roller unit. The guide unit is provided on a route along which a banknote bundle inputted into the banknote bundle receiving machine is moved. The pickup roller unit is provided above the guide unit in a spaced-apart relationship with the guide unit and configured to separate a banknote from the banknote bundle and to feed the banknote. The pickup roller raising/lowering unit is configured to raise or lower the pickup roller unit. The feeding roller unit is provided on a back side of the pickup roller unit. The gate roller unit is provided under the feeding roller unit and configured to maintain a predetermined distance from the feeding roller unit.
SHEET-FEEDING DEVICE INCLUDING SECOND FEEDING ROLLER FOR FEEDING SHEETS IN ADDITION TO FIRST FEEDING ROLLER
A sheet-feeding device includes: a first feeding roller configured to contact a sheet accommodated in a sheet-accommodation portion to feed the sheet; a second feeding roller movable between a non-feeding position and a feeding position; a driving source configured to generate a rotational driving force to the first feeding roller; a transmission portion configured to transmit the rotational driving force to the second feeding roller; a first sensor; a second sensor; and a roller actuating portion. The roller actuating portion is configured to: move the second feeding roller from the non-feeding position to the feeding position in a case where the second detector detects rotation of the first feeding roller is stopped during a sheet-feeding operation; and move the second feeding roller from the feeding position to the non-feeding position in a case where the first sensor detects the sheet-feeding operation is completed for the sheet.
GUIDE SYSTEM TO GUIDE PAPER WEBS
Guide system for handling paper material webs comprising: gripping means (1) configured to engage a web (W) of paper material to control its movement according to a predetermined advancement direction (WF); a structure (2) for supporting said gripping means (1); hooking means (4) adapted to temporarily hook a lateral edge (SW) of the web (W), said hooking means being arranged downstream of the gripping means (1) with respect to the aforementioned advancement direction (WF) and configured for temporary hooking the lateral edge (SW) of the web (W) by temporary overlapping a path (PW) followed by the same lateral edge.
