Apparatus for removing a hook with a barb
An apparatus for removing a hook embedded within a tissue is presented. The hook has a barb extending from a point section of the hook. The apparatus includes a clamping device configured to secure the hook. A probe is coupled to the clamping device. The probe has a tip portion configured to fit within a space between the barb and the point section of the hook to allow the hook to be removed from the tissue.
Jaw spreader for removing fishing tackle
A jaw spreader device is adapted to spread apart the jaws of a fish to facilitate removal of a hook or lure from the fish. The device has a spring biased tong-like configuration wherein in the normal configuration; the distal ends are spread apart. A lock mechanism locks the device in a compact locked position to facilitate insertion between the fish jaws into the mouth of the fish. The working ends of the each tong includes a flattened blade, an arcuate bend and a transverse spreader bar. Upon insertion of the device into the jaws/mouth of the fish release of the lock mechanism, the jaws are forced apart and biased to provide a stable enlarged opening. The spreading device may then be manually compressed to facilitate withdrawal from the fish.

Fishing apparatus
A hook, fishhook, or fishing spear with at least one barb fixed to the hook, fishhook, or fishing spear with an epoxy that disbonds upon the application of an electric current. Components of the barb and the hook, fishhook, or fishing spear form a loop of electrically conductive material that carries a current induced by the application of a magnetic field generated by a magnetic field generator external to the hook, fishhook, or fishing spear. A current may be generated to disband the barb from the hook, fishhook, or fishing spear in order to facilitate the removal of the hook, fishhook, or fishing spear from an impaled fish.

Hands free dehooking device
A roatable hands free fish dehooking device (1) used for safely removing hooks and lures from a fish's mouth and/or body. The hands free dehooking device has a rigid ring (2) located on an end of an elongated arm (3) that is mounted to a fixed or stationary object (6), such as a box (8), boat (7), or other object that anchors the ring and arm in a fixed position for use. The ring and arm may also be rotatable so the hands free dehooking device may be rotated into a stored position or an operating position.

FISH-HOLDING DEVICE
A fish-holding device, comprising a hollow tube (6) with a channel (12); a hook (1) attached to the distal end of the tube (6); a movable element (2) inserted in the hollow tube and guided along the channel by a release element (7) attached to the movable element, the movable element being guided for being slidable between a closed position, wherein an end of the movable element (2) abuts against a free and blunt end of the hook, and an open position, wherein the movable element is associated with a spring that biases the movable element towards the closed position; and wherein the channel (12) includes a plurality of lateral retaining grooves (5) configured to house the release element (7) in different positions along the channel.
